Criterion Collection October 2021 Releases Include Uncut Gems

The Criterion Collection October releases have been announced and Adam Sandlers ‘Uncut Gems’ and Bogart’s ‘High Sierra’ are must owns.

Uncut Gems and High Sierra Criterion Collection Movies Available October 2021

The Criterion Collection October Releases have been announced and there are a few really solid titles on the list including Adam Sandler’s surprising Uncut Gems that definitely needs a much bigger audience. The Oscars completely snubbed Sandler’s best performance so far and we still think it was one of the most unnerving films of the year with some great performances from Sandler and Eric Bogosian.

Criterion have been busy so far in 2021 with some excellent Blu-ray releases including an older film from Academy Award winner Bong Joon Ho who struck gold in 2020 with Parasite. Korean cinema is finally getting the attention it deserves from American movie fans and there’s no question that Bong Joon Ho has created a lot of fans with both Parasite, The Host, and Mother.

We’re only speculating, but a future Criterion Blu-ray release of Minari has to be in the works for 2022.

This October, Adam Sandler hustles his way across New York in a brilliantly manic character study from Josh and Benny Safdie, while Humphrey Bogart gives his star-making turn in the fatalistic Raoul Walsh thriller, High Sierra.

Satyajit Ray and Jack Arnold respectively tackle the conflict between faith and reason and the question of what it means to be human in a sublime domestic tragedy and the sneakily profound sci-fi classic, Devi.

Kaneto Shindo’s erotic and rather chilling Onibaba and Lynne Ramsay’s haunting debut, Ratcatcher arrive on Blu-ray as well as part of the Criterion Collection October 2021 releases.
