Focal Naim Unveils ‘Mixed on Focal #6’ and Hip Hop & Rap Vol. 2 — Curated Playlists for People Who Actually Care About Sound

Discover the latest “Mixed on Focal” HD playlists from Focal Naim America, featuring tracks mixed by top engineers on Focal studio monitors—now streaming in high-res.

Mixed on Focal #6 and Hip-Hop Rap Vol. 2

Focal Naim America — the high-end importer that deals in gear most people can’t pronounce and even fewer can afford — just dropped two new HD audio playlists under its “Mixed on Focal” banner. If you’re the kind of listener who actually cares how your music was mixed (or at least pretends to), these were made for you. Available now on Apple Music, Qobuz, TIDAL, Amazon Music — and yes, even Spotify, who pinky-swore a CD-quality tier is “coming soon” — back in 2021.

“Mixed on Focal #6”

The main course is “Mixed on Focal #6”, a 50-track stereo buffet curated by engineers who actually know what they’re doing: Jeremy Mang, Luca Pretolesi, Bobby Campbell, Leslie Brathwaite, Will Yip, and a dozen others. These aren’t bedroom producers with cracked plug-ins — we’re talking legit names using Focal pro monitors like the Trio11, Twin6, and Shape Twin. And no, you don’t need to ask what they cost. Just assume the answer is “a lot.”

Hip Hop & Rap Vol. 2

There’s also “Hip Hop & Rap Vol. 2”, a focused hit of genre-specific heat from engineers with serious credits. Leslie Brathwaite mixed Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tracks on Focal’s Twin6 and Sub12 — including Sweet Honey Buckin’, which you may recognize from the last time Beyoncé broke the internet. Bobby Campbell handled tracks from Logic and Juicy J on the flagship Trio11s, which is a bit like driving a Bugatti to the grocery store, but hey, we respect the commitment to detail.

According to Romain Vet, VP of Sales & Marketing at Focal Naim America:

“Listeners want to hear music the way the artist meant their music to sound.”

Translation: please stop streaming low-bitrate garbage through your laptop speakers and pretending you’ve “really heard” the latest Kendrick album. These playlists let you hear tracks the way they were mixed — on Focal’s studio monitors or (if you’re lucky) their headphones. It’s marketing, yes, but it’s also a not-so-subtle flex.

In a sea of algorithm-farmed playlists and tinny Bluetooth speakers, this is one of the few ways left to hear music the way it was actually built. So, grab your favorite pair of cans, fire up your lossless service of choice, and treat your ears to something better than compressed slop.

Explore the two new “Mixed on Focal” playlists and find your nearest Focal Professional dealer on the Focal Artists Experience website.
