Sennheiser Momentum Headphones Rebranded HD1

Sennheiser HD1 Wireless (over-ear) Headphone in ivory

Sennheiser has rebranded a slew of headphones under the Momentum brand in North America. To add to the confusion, there is a mix of models that include in-ear, on-ear, over-ear in both wired and wireless versions. In most cases just replace Momentum with HD1. We believe this is how it breaks down.

Over-ear headphones
Momentum 2.0 over-ear (wired) -> HD1 – $249.95
Momentum 2.0 over-ear (wireless) -> HD1 Wireless – $399.95

There’s also a new HD1 edition Pink Floyd – $499.95 (special edition of HD1 Wireless)

On-ear headphones
Momentum 2.0 on-ear (wired) -> HD1 On-ear – $229.95
Momentum 2.0 on-ear (wireless) -> HD1 On-ear Wireless – $299.95

In-ear headphones
Momentum In-Ear (wired) -> HD1 In-Ear – $99.95
Momentum Free (around the neck wireless) -> HD1 Free In-Ear – $199.95

There’s also a HD1 In-Ear Wireless Black (around the neck wireless) – $199.95

Also, watch out for Sennheiser’s new tagline, “Discover the HD1 family. Headphones with MOMENTUM.”

Please keep in mind if you’re buying older stock or looking for used items. Also, it seems these name changes are only in the U.S. and Canada. Many foreign countries seem to be sticking with the MOMENTUM brand across Europe, Asia and Australia.
