Wisdom Audio SC-1 System Controller Adds Multi-Zone

SC-1 0009

Available by Early January 2010, the 7.3-Channel Capable SC-1 Allows High-End Residential and Marine Customers to Utilize the Award-Winning Sage Series in Multiple Rooms

Wisdom Audio, the leader in planar magnetic technologies, is proud to announce that they have added multi-zone capabilities to its Sage Series SC-1 System Controller. Available by CES 2010 in early January and at no additional cost for new or existing installations, the new feature set will allow the SC-1 to control up to three zones. Wisdom Audio will feature the SC-1 at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held in Las Vegas, Nev. from Jan 7-10 at The Venetian, suite 30-235.

“The new software will expand the flexibility of the 7.3-channel capable SC-1, thus increasing its value for operating additional Sage systems in other zones,” explained Mark Glazier, Wisdom Audio president. “For instance, if a customer has a main 5.1-channel theater system and wants a secondary Sage system, the SC-1 will allow them to utilize those unused channels elsewhere within the home or yacht.”

Wisdom Audio’s SC-1 System Controller incorporates an electronic crossover and acoustic room correction that incorporates Audyssey MultEQ XT technology. It also includes selectable, RS-232 operable memory settings for optimized performance in varied acoustic settings for music and film environments. A PC-based installation application allows a professional installer to configure the SC-1 for the particular complement of Sage Series speakers used in a given installation.

“Our customers asked for this increased flexibility, and so we delivered,” Glazier continued. “They wanted to be able to utilize Sage systems in multiple rooms in the most cost effective manner possible, whether in residential or high-end marine applications. The new SC-1 software allows for greater flexibility in expanding applications to multiple zones, thus, bringing Sage’s award-winning performance to more zones without the need for additional system controllers.”

According to Glazier, Sage Series customers can also now utilize a number of Sage system configurations in multiple zones, taking into account different room conditions (i.e. drapes open versus closed), slightly different target curves (i.e. music vs. gaming), and various seating arrangements (i.e. solo listening vs. the whole family). Customers now have greatly expanded choices when wanting to utilize and control Sage Series speakers throughout the home or yacht.

Wisdom Audio has also brought to market more than 20 Sage Series models, encompassing in-wall, on-wall, and freestanding versions of most configurations ranging from 20 inches to 76 inches tall. Sage Series speakers incorporate new generation proprietary thin film planar magnetic drivers which allow for its narrow and shallow physical characteristics, thus permitting the unprecedented possibility of the same driver complement and back box to be used for such varied applications, ranging from in-wall to freestanding.
