Tripp Lite’s Backup Power Block is Honored with 2008 Mark of Excellence Award
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Chicago, IL (April 1, 2008) — The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) announced that Tripp Lite has won a 2008 Mark of Excellence Award, presented by CEA’s TechHome Division. CEA’s Mark of Excellence Awards honored Tripp Lite’s AV550SC Backup Power Block for outstanding achievement and innovation in trend-setting custom home electronics. The AV550SC was recognized as “Best Structured Wiring Product.” Award entries were reviewed by a panel of industry experts and submitted in two categories: Supplier and Systems Integrators.
Designed to address specific applications within the growing structured wiring market, the AV550SC Backup Power Block provides reliable battery backup, surge protection and EMI/RFI line noise filtering for audio/video distribution systems in structured wiring enclosure environments. Simple to install, it features four AC outlets plus HD-compatible 2.2GHz coaxial and tel/modem/DSL surge protection, providing a complete, cost-effective power protection solution. The AV550SC also features a recycle/reset button with sequential outlet startup for proper modem and router rebooting after a power failure or system freeze-up.
“The AV550SC Backup Power Block was the first power protection solution designed from the ground up to meet the need for a power protection solution optimized for structured wiring enclosures,” said Dennis Mariasis, Tripp Lite Audio/Video Brand Manager. “Since its introduction, the AV550SC has proved very popular with professional installers, and we’re honored to receive this award from CEA.”
Tripp Lite’s AV550SC Backup Power Block was recognized at the Mark of Excellence Awards Dinner on Friday, March 14, in conjunction with the ninth annual Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2008.
Each year, manufacturers, distributors and systems integrators enter to compete in award categories for this coveted honor. Each of the TechHome Mark of Excellence Awards categories has a four-member judging team comprised of systems integrators, manufacturers, members of the trade press and industry consultants to determine both finalists and winners.
