Triangle Hi-Fi has expanded its wireless lineup with the CAPELLA 2, the successor to the original CAPELLA powered speakers. Designed and built in France, the CAPELLA 2 continues the brand’s use of horn tweeters and integrated amplification, offering a straightforward wireless hi-fi solution for modern systems.
The CAPELLA 2 builds on the strengths of the original CAPELLA system with several key updates. The new Stereo Hub 2 now features a more powerful ARM Cortex-A53 processor, a dedicated subwoofer output, and an Ethernet port for improved network stability.
Like the original, the CAPELLA 2 system consists of a pair of powered wireless speakers paired with a central stereo hub and companion app for connectivity and control. Each speaker connects wirelessly to the hub, requiring only a single AC power cable per speaker.
Triangle CAPELLA 2 Wireless Speakers: Design, Drivers, and Performance

Tweeter: The CAPELLA 2 speakers use Triangle’s TZ2530MG horn tweeters, a signature design element for the brand. The optimized phase plug at the horn’s output improves off-axis sound dispersion, while the 25mm magnesium-aluminum alloy dome delivers accurate high-frequency detail and extended top-end response.

Midwoofer: The CAPELLA 2 features a 165mm (6.5″) mid-woofer with Triangle’s proprietary natural cellulose pulp diaphragm, a hallmark of the brand’s acoustic design. The driver includes a ventilated aluminum chassis and a hybrid half-roll suspension made of foam and treated rubber, enabling natural vocal reproduction, detailed instrument presentation, and controlled low-end response.
DVAS: The CAPELLA 2 continues to use Triangle’s DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) to enhance driver performance and cabinet stability. This system uses high-density perforated bracing bonded to each driver with a damping layer, reinforcing the driver-to-cabinet connection. High-density DVA foam at the ends of internal reinforcements helps reduce vibration from membrane movement for cleaner sound reproduction.
Downfiring Vents: The cabinet sits on an elevated aluminum base that allows unobstructed airflow around the downfiring bass reflex port. Low frequencies are evenly dispersed around the base, while midrange frequencies project from the front.
The flared dual-ended port design minimizes airflow noise and reduces harmonic distortion. This configuration supports flexible placement — whether the speakers are in open space or near a wall — without sacrificing performance.

Cabinet Design: The CAPELLA 2’s rounded cabinet edges serve both aesthetic and acoustic purposes. The front panel supports the drivers and aids in diffracting sound waves, helping to minimize distortion. Rubber rings around the tweeter and mid-woofer feature an angular, geometric structure to reduce edge effects. The curved edges also deflect reflected waves outward, lowering unwanted reflections and enhancing overall clarity.
CAPELLA 2 Amplification, DSP, and Digital Crossover
Amplification & DSP: The CAPELLA 2 active speakers deliver a total of 2 × 100 watts, with each driver powered by its own 50-watt amplifier and dedicated digital-to-analog converter. A built-in DSP continuously monitors driver performance, optimizing output and ensuring consistent response across the full frequency range.
Crossover: The system uses a digitally controlled crossover designed for linear frequency response. This results in tighter, more controlled bass, a clearer and balanced soundstage, and improved vocal detail, allowing the speakers to maintain precision and clarity across the spectrum.
CAPELLA 2 Stereo Hub Version 2

Processor & Connectivity: The Stereo Hub 2 features an upgraded ARM Cortex-A53 processor for faster, more reliable performance. It includes an Ethernet port for stable network connections, supporting seamless streaming and multi-room setups.
Subwoofer Output: A dedicated subwoofer output has been added, allowing easy integration of a separate low-frequency module to extend bass performance.
System Integration: Like the original hub, the Stereo Hub 2 connects wirelessly to both CAPELLA 2 speakers, with a single AC power cable required per speaker, and is controlled via the companion app for simplified system management.

Connectivity: The CAPELLA 2 supports a range of wireless inputs, including Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, along with AirPlay, Google Chromecast, and Roon for versatile streaming options.
Wired Inputs: Physical connections include HDMI ARC, optical, USB, RCA, and 3.5mm analog stereo. The system also features a dedicated subwoofer output for easy integration of an external bass module.
WiSA Technology
Wireless Speaker Connection: Like the original CAPELLA, the CAPELLA 2 uses WiSA technology to transmit audio from the Stereo Hub to the speakers. This wireless system supports high-resolution audio (24-bit/96kHz) with virtually no latency. WiSA also allows flexible speaker placement, as no physical cables are required between the hub and the speakers.
The CAPELLA App

For ease of setup and control, a free CAPELLA App (iOS/Android) is provided. This provides users with Room EQ and Manual EQ setting options, as well as working with the Stereo Hub for setup and input selection.
Automatic Calibration

CAPELLA App & Automatic Calibration: The CAPELLA App includes Automatic Calibration Technology, which adjusts the system to match the acoustic characteristics of your listening space. This step helps ensure optimal performance from the CAPELLA 2 in any environment.
Pro Tip: Calibration works with Apple devices using the built-in microphone. Android phones or tablets require the optional Zen microphone ($149) for the same functionality.

The Bottom Line
The Triangle CAPELLA 2 builds on the original with practical upgrades like a subwoofer output, Ethernet connectivity, and enhanced hub features, making it a more versatile compact wireless system. While a dedicated phono input would have improved turntable integration, the CAPELLA 2 remains a strong option for those seeking French-designed, high-performance wireless speakers.
It competes in a crowded sub-$2,000 market that includes Audioengine, ELAC, Kanto Audio, PSB, and KEF, but Triangle’s reputation and design appeal give it an edge for buyers willing to invest in quality.
Price & Availability
The CAPELLA 2 system has been previewed worldwide at the Warsaw Hi-Fi Show held on October 25 and 26, 2025. Product availability is expected to begin early in 2026. The European price is expected to €2499 – US pricing has not been announced.
