TrekStor GmbH Unveils Latest Multi-Function External Hard Drive

TREKSTOR GMBH UNVEILS EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE WITH MEMORY CARD READERS, DUEL USB HUB, AND ONE CLICK BACKUP

EAST ROCKAWAY, New York — March 21, 2007 — TrekStor GmbH, Germany’s largest manufacturer of portable media players, external hard drives and miniature USB sticks, has introduced the DataStation maxi t.uch. This multi-function 3.5″ external hard drive comes with an integrated 9-format memory card reader, a dual USB hub, and software that enables reliable data back up with a single click of a button. The maxi t.uch is housed in a black anodized aluminum case for durability, optimum cooling, and silent operation. Capacities range from 250, 320 and 400GB and it supports Windows, including Vista, Mac and Linux operating systems.

“This is the ideal hard drive for anyone with a digital camera, camcoder or the need to back up with no hassels. Simply press a button and your are done,” said Hana Arad, president of Data Station Inc., the U.S. marketing arm for TrekStor GmbH. “In fact, users can store their songs, videos and movies on the external dive, which frees up the main system for greater efficiency and faster processing.”

“Incorporating original German engineering and technology, the maxi t.uch offers users a unique design, superb quality and performance, and outstanding value,” said Shimon Szmigiel, TrekStor CEO.

The 3-in-1 Hard Drive
The new mobile hard drive reads nine separate formats of memory cards — including MS duo pro, SD (Secure Digital) Card and Compact Flash Card types I/II — via an integrated card reader on the front panel. This allows data to be transferred quickly and easily to the maxi t.uch or the PC without the need to install special software.

The integrated dual USB 2.0 hub enables additional USB devices to be connected and used with the PC. The DataStation maxi t.uch employees a high speed USB 2.0 interface, it is bootable and has been preformatted for immediate use.

The maxi t.uch is the ideal solution for performing daily backups and transporting or exchanging data. The backup software included in the deliverables allows data to be backed up automatically with a simple click of a button.
The maxi t.uch features a silver-tone front panel, which houses the card reader and USB ports, as well as a cool, vertical blue LED on/off light. With physical space on a desktop at premium, the drive can be placed horizontally on the desktop or vertically (with included feet) for added flexibility. Each drive is shipped with a USB 2.0 cable, power supply (100V — 240V), software CD, operating instructions, and other accessories.

Szmigiel is also proud of TrekStor’s “green” approach to packaging. All TrekStor products come in compact, efficient packaging, which not only cuts back on landfill waste, but reduces fuel and shipping costs as well. “Less bulky packaging, means more boxes on the boat. What once took two containers, now takes one.”

Availability and Price
The DataStation maxi t.uch will be available in April at J&R Music and Computer World retail outlet and online at JR.com, Amazon.com and TheStorStore.com. Backed by a one-year warranty, the MSRP for the DataStation maxi t.uch is:
