Syntax Olevia LCD-TVs Set New Low Pricing Standard for Consumer Affordability

Syntax Groups Introduces “Olevia” LCD-TVs Breaking Price Barrier for Best-in-Class Digital Entertainment

Joint Venture with Kolin & Prokia Gives Strategic Advantages in R&D and World Class Manufacturing

City of Industry, CA-May 18, 2004-Syntax Groups Corporation(tm), an emerging growth manufacturer of consumer electronics products, today announced it’s formal entry into the LCD TV market with its initial line of Olevia(tm) branded models. Immediately available through premier channel partners, the new Olevia 27-inch and 30-inch LCD TVs provide consumers with high quality entertainment images and optimum affordability.

Featuring an ultra-thin flat panel LCD screen for viewing versatility in home or office settings, the new Syntax Olevia LCD-TVs blend robust functionality, stylish design and exceptional quality with a unique customer-friendly support program.

“As we continue to see the market evolve towards widespread adoption of LCD-TVs as the consumer’s entertainment unit of choice, our high definition Olevia branded digital TVs will be ideally suited to deliver a total quality experience with best-of-breed features at real world affordability,” said James Li, Chief Executive Officer of Syntax Groups Corporation. “With our customers as our most important focus, we have implemented an unprecedented support program including a free first year on-site warranty.”

Competitively priced at $1399 for the Syntax Olevia 27-inch LCD-TV model, and $1799 for the 30-inch model, the units are currently available from popular sales channel partners including TigerDirect (www.tigerdirect.com), PC Connection (www.pcconnection.com; NASDAQ:PCCC), PC Mall (www.pcmall.com; NASDAQ:MALL), and DataVision (www.datavis.com). Syntax Groups plans to announce additional retail and distribution alliances in the near future.

Superb Specifications at Compelling Prices
Offered in elegant silver color, the Syntax Groups’ Olevia 27-inch and 30-inch models far exceed the specifications of similar sized competitive LCD-TV products with its industry-leading features including:
· 750:1 contrast ratio
· 650:1 refresh rate
· Three rows of backlights for image brilliance and clarity.
Both Syntax models are HDTV-ready in a 16:9 widescreen format with automatic progressive scan, true 1280 x 768 resolution for the 30-inch and 1280 x 720 resolution for the 27-inch model, a wide 170/170 viewing angle, 500cd/m2 high brightness and a fast 16ms response time for quality vivid images from a variety of locations. Measuring 35″L x 22″H x 4.25″D (including detachable speakers and stand), the Syntax Olevia LCD-TVs utilize a slim, space-efficient flat design, and are VESA-standard wall-mountable using an optional mounting kit.

Syntax Groups’ Olevia 27- and 30-inch LCD-TVs include dual NTSC tuners providing picture-in-picture (PIP) capability, as well as the ability to display split-screens or up to 12 windows displayed concurrently for multiple channel scanning. For consumers who want to complement their Syntax Olevia LCD-TV with a complete home entertainment system, DVI-I HDCP inputs are included for easy connection to many high definition components. In addition to the two 10-watt side-mounted detachable stereo speakers, both Syntax Olevia models can be connected to a complete audio system for a quality stereo experience.

Consumers can also use their Syntax Olevia LCD-TV as a “super monitor” by connecting the unit’s standard VGA input to a personal computer, thus allowing them to watch TV or a DVD movie on one side of the screen while surfing the Internet or checking email on the opposite side.

Strategic Alliances Create Solid Market Advantage
Syntax Groups recently formed a joint venture with Taiwan Kolin Company, Ltd. (TSEC: 1606.TW), a manufacturer of consumer electronics (HDTVs) and home appliances, and Prokia Technology Company, Ltd., a world-renowned designer and manufacturer of LCD backlight modules and optical projector engines. This strategic alliance, called DigiMedia Technology Company, provides Syntax Groups with unique and powerful integration from research and development, manufacturing and quality control, sales and marketing, and premium customer support. Additionally, DigiMedia maintains a strategic relationship with Chi Mei Optoelectronics (TSEC: 3009.TW) for obtaining the high-grade LCD panels manufactured in the Syntax Olevia LCD-TVs.
