SVS Introduces 1000 Pro Series Subwoofers

SVS updates its entry-level series of home theater subwoofers in sealed (SB-1000 Pro) or ported (PB-1000 Pro) designs for $599 / $799.

SVS SB-1000 Pro and PB-1000 Subwoofers with smartphone app

Today SVS announced its new 1000 Pro Series subwoofers available in sealed or ported cabinet designs, and affordably priced at $499 or $599 $599 or $799 (pricing increased in 2022). The new entry-level 1000 Pro line replaces the very popular SB-1000 and PB-1000 (non-pro) home theater subwoofers, while maintaining its same starting price point at launch.

SVS says trickle-down technology from its flagship 16-Ultra subwoofers have made the 1000 Pro series possible. Each model boasts an all-new 12-inch high-excursion SVS driver and a potent 325 watts RMS, 820+ watts peak power Sledge STA-325D amplifier with discrete MOSFET output for effortless, room-energizing bass with pinpoint control and accuracy. Harnessing the immense power is a 50MHz Analog Devices DSP, which claims pitch perfect low frequency output, at the proper levels, with exacting precision.

SVS boasts the SB-1000 Pro delivers jaw-dropping deep bass extension down to 20Hz and massive output with stunning musicality that will delight both audiophiles and home theater fans. Further claiming that reference subwoofer performance has never been available near this price from a cabinet of this size, ever.

In a new ported design, the SVS PB-1000 Pro promises room-shaking output and subterranean low frequency extension well below the threshold of human hearing, where it is only felt. All new dual port design maximizes airflow and driver motion for greater output, while eliminating potential for port turbulence. SVS describes it as breathtakingly forceful yet always accurate in frequency response.

  • Frequency Response:
    • 17Hz to 260Hz +/-3dB (standard mode)
    • 19Hz to 260Hz +/-3dB (sealed mode)

App Included

Also standard on both models is the SVS subwoofer control smartphone app, designed to make it easy to control and tune a subwoofer from anywhere in the room. The mobile app controls volume, accesses multiple DSP functions and program custom presets for one-touch tuning optimized for music, movies, gaming, and more. Uses can also adjust crossover frequencies, a three-band parametric EQ, polarity, room gain and more, all from their favorite seat.

The SVS subwoofer app also allows advanced customization so you can name your subwoofer for easy preset switching, choose the subwoofer standby mode, and reset the subwoofer to factory settings. Bluetooth connectivity allows full control, even when the subwoofer is out of sight and bi-directional feedback shows adjustments in real time on both the app and rear panel subwoofer interface.

Power

Powering the 1000 Pro Series is a commanding and sophisticated Sledge STA-325D amplifier that combines the high current output of discrete MOSFETs with Class D efficiency. Boasting an impressive 325 watts RMS and 820+ watts peak power and vanishingly low distortion, the unique design unleashes nearly limitless on-demand power to the driver, while maintaining precise driver control.1000 Pro Series subwoofers play effortlessly and still achieve accurate frequency response.

Harnessing the massive power of the Sledge amplifier is a 50 MHz Analog Devices Audio DSP with 56-bit filtering, the most sophisticated DSP engine available in a home subwoofer. The abundant processing power maintains pristine sound quality that’s faithful to the source material through advanced in-room tuning, optimized frequency response curves, powerful DSP controls and more. SVS claims this level of processing power is simply unheard of at this price range.

SVS PB-1000 Pro

The SVS 1000 Pro subwoofers arrive with completely new driver designs in which the company says are built for serious output, finesse, and accuracy. The proprietary SVS drivers features a dual ferrite magnet motor assembly with long-throw parabolic surround for extreme excursion with room-pressurizing SPLs. A lightweight and rigid aluminum vented cone with composite fiber dustcap moves immense amounts of air to create tactile sonic energy without losing control. SVS claims this all culminates in clean, accurate bass, even at intense listening levels.

Subwoofers capable of such extreme performance levels require equally formidable cabinet designs so the 1000 Pro Series are built with an extra thick MDF front baffle and rigid internal bracing to support the drive unit and to ensure an acoustically inert environment. The highly reinforced internal design eliminates any chance of coloration or resonance from the cabinet, even when the deepest low frequencies are played at high volume.

“We shocked people with the upgrade in performance delivered by the 2000 Pro Series, which replaced our most popular subwoofers of all-time. With the 1000 Pro Series, the performance bar has been set even higher and I have no doubt audio fans will be blown away by what these subwoofers deliver. Our engineers deployed the most advanced amplifier technology from our flagship subwoofers, while upgrading the drivers, the cabinets, and the user experience with our SVS smartphone app. Compared to their predecessors and the competition, 1000 Pro Series are a quantum leap forward.”Gary Yacoubian, SVS President and Managing Partner
