Sumiko / Wolf Cinema has announced that Christie, the world leading provider of professional digital cinema projectors for commercial movie theatres, will provide the projection technology for Sumiko / Wolf Cinema’s first range of projectors to meet the needs of the most demanding high-end home cinema enthusiasts. Incorporating Christie’s digital projection technology, the Wolf Cinema projectors successfully combine exceptional film-like cinema performance and advanced user-friendly features. The projectors are housed in an ingenious “black box” custom integration chassis that is designed to keep all critical thermal components cool to operate reliably for years to come. Sumiko / Wolf Cinema’s relationship with Christie forms the basis of an ongoing technology and service sourcing relationship.

“Each Wolf Cinema model has been developed to push the state-of-the-art in video projection fidelity in the home,” stated John Hunter, President of Sumiko / Wolf Cinema. “Christie technology has proven itself truly world-class for the rigorous demands of both industrial and commercial use. Wolf Cinema projectors allow this superior level of performance and reliability to be realized in a domestic application using conventional or high-definition video and broadcast sources”.

“Performance is but one part of the equation. In the world of high-performance video, an in-field service network is a necessary component to provide an exceptional ownership experience. Plans are underway to utilize Christie’s Managed Services network of 180 highly trained technicians in order for Wolf Cinema to offer unprecedented after-sales service and critical parts delivery to our customers,” stated John Hunter.

“Our relationship with Sumiko / Wolf Cinema came about after a thorough examination of technology, sales, service and marketing considerations,” stated Gary Fuller, Vice President, Business Products at Christie. “Sumiko’s expertise in providing exceptional quality, high-fidelity audio products to the specialty A/V market is well known and positions them well to provide products to the high-end home theater market. Sumiko is widely acknowledged to be one of the top specialty distributors in terms of dealer support, product training and after sales service”.

Wolf Cinema’s DCX-500i was first launched at CEDIA 2008 where it received the prestigious “EXCITE” Award from Custom Retailer magazine. Currently shipping along with the DCX-500i are the DCX-1000i and DCX-1500i projectors.
