Complete IDTV DVB-T solution with RedKey engine complies with MHEG-5 v1.06 standard for UK
Amsterdam, Holland AND Singapore, September 8, 2006 — Strategy & Technology and IKONVERGENZ announced today at IBC 2006 the availability of a fully-integrated digital TV (IDTV) solution that conforms to the MHEG-5 UK Profile Specification v1.06, a requirement necessary to achieve the Digital Switchover Certification Mark. This production-ready IDTV solution allows TV manufacturers to address and mass produce immediately for the DVB-T market, especially UK.
Digital UK launched a campaign to increase public awareness as UK’s television broadcast switches from analogue to digital transmission. The Digital tick certification scheme allows consumers to identify televisions that are designed to work before, during and after the digital switchover.
From 1 September 2006, the minimum criterion for TV manufacturers to attain the certification mark in the UK is the UK Profile of MHEG-5 v1.06 as determined by the corresponding DTG MHEG test suite.
