Sonance/Specialized riders bring home State Titles
San Fernando, CA–June 10, 2006–The Sonance/Specialized Cycling Team brought home 2 more State Championship titles this past weekend at the San Fernando State Criterium Masters Championships. In what was truly a team effort Malcolm Hill and Jay Wolkoff came home with Championship jerseys to add to the total already won by Sonance/Specialized riders at the Time Trial Championships earlier this spring.
Malcolm took first place in the 50+ category with Keith Ketterer taking 2nd, Henry Schnepf 5th, Fred Hoblit 6th, and Eugene Poyorena 19th. In the 45+ race Jay Wolkoff took first place, Steve Strickler 2nd, Malcolm Hill 6th, Thurlow Rogers 9th, Fred Hoblit 11th, Ketterer 12th , Poyorena 21st. In both events the wins were a culmination of true team work with the riders sacrificing their chances so that the team could win. In a sport that is traditionally considered an individual sport the Sonance/Specialized riders show with their results what team riding is all about.
