Skullcandy just released the Air Raid portable, rugged Bluetooth speaker for wireless listening just about anywhere from smartphones or tablets. The company says Air Raid is built like a tank, loud as hell, and was designed to be the loudest wireless speaker in its category. It comes with two 50mm drivers, 5-watts per channel or power, and pumps out 88dB SPL.
The Air Raid is waterproof, weatherproof, beach proof and drop proof—shielded with a stainless steel faceplate and removable silicone boot for added protection. The speaker offers up to 14 hours of maximum battery life when used at mid volume, 10 hours at mid to high volume and 5 hours at maxed out volume. To check battery life, double press the center button on Air Raid device to reveal the green battery status LEDs on the side of the speaker.
For 360-degree sound, the Air Raid can be placed on its back to provide a wider sound field. In addition, two Bluetooth-enabled devices can simultaneously connect for smooth transition between audio sources. For convenient functionality, users can switch tracks directly from the Air Raid device by pressing ‘+’ or ‘-‘ jointly with the center button.
