Sept. 2008–Savant Systems LLC, having lead the convergence of an open architecture platform to integrate automation and control, A/V switching, and general purpose computers, has announced that Oregon-based Genesis Home Technologies has won the “Professionals Choice-Most Innovative New Home Product” award for an installation featuring Savant’s ROSIE control products. The system was installed as part of a luxury home exposition called Street of Dreams in the greater Portland area.
The Street of Dreams event is the largest and longest running home show in the country. It is a charitable event that raised over 1.2 million dollars for 72 charities.
The award-winning home, called “Pure Innova,” was built by Haggart Luxury Homes. The site is the point of highest elevation in the region and is located just outside the city of Portland, OR. Savant’s ROSIE automation system was engineered and installed by Genesis Home Technologies to control whole-house audio, the media room, HVAC, security with cameras, and lighting. The Savant system incorporates two 13-inch wireless touchpanels, two 5-inch in-wall touchpanels and the much heralded ROSIE Surface 40-inch touchpanel built into the lounge table, which drew constant and enthusiastic attention from both show attendees and the local media. Pure Innova’s anticipated selling price is 2.6 million dollars.
