Samsung SGH-i780 GPS Smartphone Available in Turkish and Arabic

Paragon Software Group and SAMSUNG Electronics Bring Award-winning Handheld Technology to Turkish and Arabic Markets; Localization Package Bundled with Samsung SGH-i780 GPS Smartphone

Paragon Software Group, the leading developer of innovative software applications for mobile devices and PC desktops, announces the release of Turkish and Arabic localization packages on the recently unveiled SAMSUNG SGH-i780 mobile communicator. The agreement between Paragon and SAMSUNG Electronics Co. Ltd, a global leader in the mobile phone industry, will enable full native interface translation, text input and handwriting recognition in the Turkish and Arabic languages on SAMSUNG SGH-i780 GPS smartphones through a Paragon software application CD bundled with the device.

Localized for the Turkish and Arabic markets, the package allows full translation of the interface, national onscreen and hardware keyboards, with convenient switching between Arabic or Turkish to English. Also included in the bundle is Paragon’s PenReader multilingual handwriting recognition software, enabling handwriting recognition text input in Turkish or Arabic. PenReader does not require special training or adjustment to one’s handwriting, and will be ready to use as soon as the device is turned on, making work on the SGH-i780 device more comfortable and effective.

“Paragon collaborated intensely with SAMSUNG to help bring the best possible mobile computing experience to Eurasia and the Middle East,” said Dmitry Bekhterev, chief of sales and business development department of Paragon Software Group. “The quality of the software bundle offered by Paragon Software Group for SAMSUNG devices is beyond compare due to SAMSUNG’s meticulous testing procedures. We look forward to adding value to our partnership with SAMSUNG with future localization packages available in other languages and for other SAMSUNG devices.”

The Turkish- and Arabic-optimized SGH-i780 represents the newest in a series of offerings in the partnership between SAMSUNG Electronics and Paragon Software Group. The SGH-i780 GPS smartphone, recently showcased at CES 2008 in Las Vegas, runs Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional, and features 150MB of internal memory, a 2-megapixel camera, HSDPA support, Wi-Fi technology and stereo Bluetooth. Sleek and sporty, the SGH-i780 is one of the few mobile devices to offer a full QWERTY keyboard in addition to its 2.55-inch full-touch LCD screen and optical joystick. Additional features of the SGH-i780 include the microSD card slot, push email and music player.

Paragon continues its commitment to add value to its partnership with SAMSUNG Electronics and the EMEA region by enhancing features and adding to its growing list of available software titles. Currently, Paragon is in the process of developing multi-lingual dictionaries for world markets served by its partnership with SAMSUNG Electronics.
