CHANHASSEN, MN — February 18, 2005 — An award winner is making its way back to the Electronic House Expo this spring, thanks to Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), a leader in innovative home control solutions. Last November, the company’s innovative T2+ Universal System Controller was given the coveted EH Publishing’s Distributed Audio Award for its outstanding ability to simplify the operation of high-end distributed audio & video systems, home theaters, and other residential subsystems. Next week, the T2+ Universal System Controller alongside RTI’s newest control products–K4 In-Wall Universal Controller, T3 Universal System Controller, U1 Waterproof Controller, and the RP-6 Remote Control Processor (Electronic House Magazine’s Product of the Year 2004)–head for the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando Florida. From February 24-26, RTI’s complete lineup will be on exhibit at Booth # 1431. In addition, on Wednesday, February 23, Mathew Lust, National Product Trainer for RTI will conduct a manufacturer training session entitled: RTI TheaterTouch Training — Level One. The session will run from 1:30PM to 3:00 PM. Matthew Lust will also conduct an advanced training, Level Two, to be held from 3:30PM to 5:00PM.
“We are proud of these awards and grateful for the tremendous recognition that the industry has bestowed upon our products,” said Pete Baker, director of sales & marketing at Remote Technologies Incorporated. “It was especially a big thrill to be picked by Electronic House among a very impressive list of finalists. It just seems very befitting for us to showcase our winners in an EHX event.”
Measuring 1.1 inches thin, and weighing 8.5 ounces, the T2+ Universal System Controller is an ultra-slim remote control package that makes accessing all functions easy even for smaller hands. It perfectly balances basic and advanced functions, ergonomically laying out 32 fully programmable hard buttons and a touch-sensitive LCD that displays high-contrast menus and scroll lists. A tilt sensor automatically illuminates the buttons and touchscreen when the remote is picked up, and the LCD never needs calibrating.
RTI’s new K4 In-Wall Universal Controller features a 6.4-inch TFT LCD touchscreen display with full VGA resolution, powerful 32-bit processor, and infrared receiver that lets installers provide users complete and precise control over all audio/video components, lights, or other electronic systems. Its touchscreen is small enough to blend into a room’s interior, yet it provides the detail necessary for displaying video windows and web pages. The K4 interface has a 32-MB Flash memory, making it fully programmable using RTI’s TheaterTouch Designer software, which has evolved over the past decade to become the most rock-solid programming interface available. It lets installers easily display custom buttons, text, graphics, and animations. The controller maintains all settings and configurations even when power is lost. The K4 will be available in March of 2005.
The new T3 Universal System Controller features a 3.5 inch, brightly backlit touchscreen capable of displaying high-resolution graphics, animations, and custom buttons. The touch-sensitive LCD display allows installers unmatched flexibility in customizing an interface that provides users intuitive access to all functions of any entertainment system with minimal operating instruction needed. In addition to the LCD, there are 16 hard buttons that allow easy access to frequently used functions. The T3’s touchscreen and tactile buttons are all fully programmable and macro-assignable, and allow installers to build an infinitely flexible and expandable control platform for any system in the home. A 32-bit, 200 MHz XScale processor ensures quick, reliable response, and the remote’s non-volatile flash memory allows storage of an expansive library of codes and commands, which remain in tact even when power is lost. The T3 will be available in March of 2005.
The new U1 Waterproof Controller has been designed for reliable wireless control of audio/video systems from environments that are too harsh for normal remote controls. It is completely sealed, making it both waterproof and floatable. The U1 is designed to be used as an RF remote control with RTI central processors, making it more than just another remote control–it’s an expandable control system. When used with the available RTI accessory devices, the U1 is capable of power sensing for intelligent control, and RS-232 communications for advanced control. Its comfortable, ergonomic design allows effortless, one-handed operation while featuring just the right selection of buttons for stress-free audio/video system control. The U1 will be available in March of 2005.
The RP-6 is a centralized control processor with the power to give users fast, easy and reliable control over any size system. The RP-6 Remote Control Processor simplifies all the signal communication and distribution functions necessary for controlling today’s advanced entertainment systems, centralizing the power at the processor. Previous operating platforms with a single universal remote control would lose or receive incomplete commands and macro sequences due to many environmental and performance limitations. The RP-6 foregoes the use of an internal receiver, opting for outboard RF receiver modules and IR receivers (sold separately) and compatible with standard IR emitters and repeater systems. The RP-6 allows installers to instantly scale an RTI control system to the scope or complexity of any project. The RP-6 also stores and dispatches all macro strings and IR codes from its processor, requiring only a single IR or RF trigger command for perfect execution of macros every time.
