EDEN PRAIRIE, MN — August 8, 2007 — Remote Technologies Incorporated (RTI), the leading control systems manufacturer, is now shipping its three new customizable keypads designed for flush-mount installations. All three keypads provide a self-contained, open-architecture system for controlling and automating audio/video components, lights, or other electronic systems in the home.
Sized for a single-gang outlet, the RK1-2, RK1-4 and RK1-8 incorporate two, four, and eight fully-programmable buttons respectively, with each button capable of storing and executing unlimited macro command steps. Each button can be labeled with custom text and symbols and in addition the backlight for each button can be configured to display any one of several different colors. For example the “music” button can display a purple backlight while the “lighting” button can display a green backlight, providing not only an attractive, sophisticated look, but aiding in quickly and easily identifying buttons by function even in dim ambient light conditions.
The RK1 Series can directly control almost any audio/video component or lighting system up to 1,000 feet away using its infrared output port. When used with the available RTI accessory devices, the RK1 Series is capable of infrared routing, relay control, power sensing, and RS-232 communications for advanced control. Programming is easy and convenient thanks to RTI’s proprietary, award-winning, Windows based TheaterTouch Designer software.
