Panamax Expands Market Application of MAX In-Wall PRO Series

PETALUMA, CA — December 20, 2004 — Panamax, the leading manufacturer of power protection and conditioning products, is expanding the functionality and market application of the Max In-Wall family with the addition of two new SKUs. The first is Panamax’s exclusive metal outlet box (MIW-MOB) that can be used in both new and remodel construction jobs. It is designed specifically for use with the family of MIW-Power products and is available in packs of four.

The second new SKU is a power kit (MIW-POWERKIT-MOB) which includes the metal outlet boxes instead of the plastic boxes and Romex supplied in the MIW-PowerKit-TL. Max In-Wall power kits are the ideal solution for discreetly providing power and audio/video signals to remote devices such as plasma TVs and ceiling projectors, as well as amplifiers or powered subwoofers. The kits are designed to be used with a Panamax power conditioner in the main equipment rack and provide the ability to route AC power and audio/video signals through the walls to the remote equipment. Discriminating consumers get the result they are expecting; an installation that’s just like the magazine ad for the plasma TV where it looks like a painting hanging on the wall and there aren’t any visible wires or cables.

The two new products are intended for use in jobs where metal boxes and conduit or armored cable are required by code. “By offering these new SKUs, we are providing a solution for areas where local building codes are more stringent than the National Electrical Code,” said Don King, director of product marketing at Panamax. “Illinois’ Cook County, which contains Chicago, is such an area. Many international markets also require this type of solution. We have received numerous requests for the metal box upgrade from installers and dealers in the Chicago area. In addition, commercial construction has similar requirements and these new products will allow commercial installers to take advantage of the Max In-Wall Family’s benefits. Installers across the board are going to find the Max In-Wall Family to be a perfect fit for their safe power distribution needs.”

Both products will be available in January. The MIW-POWERKIT-MOB retails for $299.95 and the MIW-MOB retails for $9.95
