New Sherbourn PT-7010A Preamplifier



May 23, 2005, Billerica, MA — Sherbourn Technologies debuted their outstanding new pre/pro processor this week. The model PT-7010 follows on the heels of its wildly successful predecessor Model PT-7000.

“The world of home theater has continually pushed the envelope of technolgy and we are proud to introduce a feature pack pre/pro that will meet and exceed the needs of the most discerning consumers”, said Ron Fone, President of Sherbourn.

The PT-7010A is a fully featured and intelligent processor and features the Motorola DSP 56376, 1520 Mhz Symphony DSP chip. Processing schemes include Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro-LogicII & IIX, DTS-ES and DTS neo:6

The PT-7010A features automatic video transcoding that allows this outstanding unit to up convert composite and S-video source-to-component video.

The PT-7010A’s connection suite accomodates most digital equipment with 3 buffered, high definition component video inputs (2-out) and a 8-channel direct path, analog input for DVD-Audio and SACD. For high quality connections the PT-7010A provides balanced outputs for all 8 channels. The PT-7010A can also provide stereo playback from a multi-channel source in a second room of the house.

Sherbourn also provides a first-class remote control with the PT-7010A. The Universal Remote Control, Inc’s Home Theater Master MX-500. The OSD (On Screen Display) is backlit for easy set up and calibration. The OSD is component video compatible and has enough preprogrammed codes to cover almost any component. Pre-programmed and learning, the remote is easy to master yet infinite in it’s capabilities.

The PT-7010A has an RS-232 control port to enable discrete code uploading as well flash memory upgradability.

Suggested retail price for the PT-7010A is $3000 and is shipping as of May 2005.
