Magellan, a leading global provider of GPS navigation for vehicles and outdoor recreation, announced today the introduction of the new Magellan eXplorist 210 Outdoor Bundle. Available in April, the convenient, full-solution GPS package combines a Magellan eXplorist 210 handheld GPS receiver, Magellan MapSend Topo 3D USA software, a cigarette lighter adapter, USB cable and clip case, all for just US $229.00. Users gain a complete set of navigation tools to plan and navigate with confidence when hunting, backpacking, off-roading, fly fishing or enjoying other outdoor activities.
The powerful, compact eXplorist 210 provides map expansion capabilities with a high-speed USB data port for downloading and storing up to 22 MB of maps from the Magellan MapSend software line. Wrapped in a rugged, water-resistant case, the eXplorist 210 provides a large 2.3″ grayscale display, precise three-meter positioning and a built-in base map of major roads, parks, waterways and airports. Users can create and store up to 190,000 personal points of interest/waypoints, 150 files with 20 routes each, plus 150 track logs with up to 2,000 points in the one-of-a-kind PC-like file management system. In addition, the included Geocache Manager software allows easy downloads of geocaching information directly from the Internet.
Magellan MapSend Topo 3D USA software delivers valuable data navigators need for taking on challenging terrain and unknown territory. It contains a seamless map of detailed topography, street maps and thousands of searchable points of interest for the 48 contiguous United States and Hawaii. The software is the first to combine data from the U.S. Geological Survey 30-meter National Elevation Dataset, NavTeq, and Trails.com including detailed streets and a variety of uploadable points of interest for outdoor recreation destinations. On a PC, the 3D view lets users rotate, tilt, customize and explore terrain. Users can also save and transfer maps, waypoints and routes to and from a PC and GPS for enhanced capabilities in the field.
