McIntosh Laboratory To Introduce The MS750 Music Server

— Features 750 GB Internal Hard Drive for Incredible Music Storage, Integrated Web Interface and Much More —

Binghamton, NY May 25, 2007–McIntosh Laboratory, a world leader in home entertainment systems for over 56 years, today announced the upcoming introduction of, the MS750, the second model in its expanding family of advanced Media Servers. The ultimate-quality MS750 features a 750 GB* internal hard drive and integrated web interface capabilities and allows users to effortlessly store, catalog and access over 2,000 hours of full CD-quality music (approximately 2,700 CD’s or 120,000 individual songs). With this immense capacity, the MS750 can hold approximately three times as much music as the MS300 Music Server.

Simple On-Screen Menu System; New Large-Format Front Panel Display and More…
The MS750 Music Server is designed as a no-compromise luxury music manager that makes accessing huge music collections simple, thanks to its easy-to-navigate on-screen menu system. Users can easily create and recall playlists, and a newly designed large-format front panel display shows the title of the current music playing and also provides operational prompts. In addition, a new jukebox function makes the MS750 ideal for parties — permitting “on-the-fly” song requests to be added to playlists already in use.

The MS750 also functions as a CD Ripper and MP3 Encoder which supports multiple data rates. Custom CDs may be burned from the unit’s hard drive catalog. A Free Lossless Audio Compression (FLAC) encoding and decoding element eliminates the inherent loss of data common in MP3 compression, resulting in CD quality storage.

In addition to its extensive hard drive music storage and playback capability, the MS750 also features a built-in CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP2, WMA and ACC Player and is capable of streaming files over a home network to other rooms on Ethernet enabled devices. A built-in Internet-enabled Music Guide allows for easy content management, with access to CD cover art. Users also have access to external control options for all functionality via the unit’s Serial Port or TCP/IP interface. The MS750 also makes it easy to use a preamp or phono stage to burn vinyl records to CD or to the hard drive.

McIntosh’s C46 Audio Control Center and MC402 Power Amplifier are logical companion pieces for the MS750, and are designed for smooth integration in a variety of home entertainment systems. The MS750 supports Spanish, French, Italian and German languages, and is scheduled to begin shipping in June 2007 with an MSRP of $6,000.00 and will be available at Authorized McIntosh Dealers.
