Bamboo-Clad Legno Skillfully Blends Technology and Design for Precise, Musically Beautiful Sound

Koetsu USA, the U.S. distribution arm of the world-renowned Japanese cartridge manufacturer, introduces into the U.S. market the stunning Montegiro Legno Turntable, embodying the ideal marriage of audio technology and artistic design, at the 2009 International Consumer Electronics Show.

Legno Turntable Includes Choice of Tonearm and Koetsu Cartridge
The Legno Turntable by Montegiro, a company exemplifying German engineering at its best, is at the leading edge of a new generation of turntables for a new generation of vinyl enthusiasts. The Legno builds its power upon the fundamental musicality common to all Montegiro turntables. Its skillful combination of wood and high-grade steel produces an exceptional sound, full and sonorous yet delicate. Its tight bass provides a perfect foundation for the development of a meltingly smooth mid-range and stratospheric highs.

The Legno’s tonearm is available on an optional basis. The tonearm is an integral 10.5-inch model specially modified for Montegiro. Purchasers may select units from Da Vinci Audio Labs, SME Ltd. or Jelco. The tonearm comes equipped with a highly regarded cartridge from Koetsu, the legendary Japanese company whose phono cartridges set the standard for analog sound reproduction.

The Legno’s handsome bamboo-clad chassis takes advantage of bamboo’s stabilizing and resonance damping properties. The turntable mechanism rests on four adjustable high-grade steel feet decoupled by embedded O-rings made of an innovative rubber composite. O-rings similarly decouple the extremely precise, specially treated synchronous motor, which is driven by a high-end outboard controller designed to meet the highest standards.

The Montegiro Legno Turntable is available now for a suggested price of $13,240. Final pricing varies, depending on each purchaser’s selection of a tonearm. The Legno can be seen with other outstanding Montegiro and Koetsu USA products at Suite 29-235 at the Venetian Hotel, during CES.
