HomePlug Keynote and Seminar to Address Global Standards at CONNECTIONS Europe: Strategies for Digital Living Markets
Dallas, TX October 24–CONNECTIONS Europe today announced that Matthew Theall, president of the HomePlug Powerline Alliance, will deliver a luncheon keynote on November 15, the second day of the digital living conference.
CONNECTIONS Europe: Strategies for Digital Living Markets, produced by Parks Associates in partnership with the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), will take place November 14-16, 2006, at the Adlon Kempinski in Berlin, Germany. The conference offers the European continent a single, focal event examining the international trends, strategies, and key players pertinent to the development of digital living technologies.
On November 15, 2006 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Theall will deliver his keynote entitled “The Ingredients for Global Standards and Ubiquity.” During his presentation, he will share his vision of the future global market for the connected home, including the technologies and standards that will tie together the disparate systems in the home.
“The total number of households worldwide using a data networking solution will grow from approximately 80 million at the end of 2005, to nearly 145 million by the end of 2010,” said Tricia Parks, CEO of Parks Associates. “Standards can play a key role in driving this growth, which underlines the importance of efforts such as HomePlug. We are pleased to have them at CONNECTIONS Europe, and Matthew Theall’s keynote will be invaluable to our attendees in showing the current state and future direction of the global networking market.”
In addition to the keynote, HomePlug is a Diamond Sponsor of CONNECTIONS Europe and is hosting the pre-show HomePlug Powerline Alliance Executive Seminar on November 14, from 8:30 a.m. — 4:00 p.m. The seminar will feature presentations and discussion on the uses of HomePlug powerline communications standards in the consumer electronics and carrier/ISP markets. Seminar attendees will also have the chance to meet some of the industry experts working in the alliance and discuss the alliance’s strategies for both now and the future.
“HomePlug’s Executive Seminar series was created with the goal of demonstrating the need for global open-standards and interoperability in powerline networking technology,” said Theall. “Hosting this seminar in collaboration with CONNECTIONS Europe enables HomePlug to specifically address the unique needs of the European market for digital connectivity.”
