Fujitsu’s Newest Scanners Deliver Increased Speed, New User Interface and Intelligent Scanning Technology

Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc., the market leader in document imaging scanners and services, today announced it will preview its newest ScanSnap Scanners at the 2009 International CES Conference and Expo, January 8-11 in Las Vegas and at the Macworld 2009 Conference and Expo™, January 6-9 in San Francisco. For the first time, Fujitsu will introduce the new design concepts of the ScanSnap S1500 (PC) and S1500M (Mac) to the public and offer product demonstrations, highlighting the new features. Both scanners will be available to the public in the spring of 2009.

Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500
The Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 maintains the rich functionality of its predecessors, enabling easy one-button scanning, while providing new and innovative features to address the growing needs of customers. The latest introduction includes enhanced utility features with the addition of an intelligent resolution function and paper double-feed detection, a redesigned software interface, enhanced business card scanning and faster speeds. Equipped with a new design, the new scanner boasts speeds of 20 pages per minute (ppm) for single sided documents and 40 images per minute (ipm) for double-sided documents. Additionally, the ScanSnap S1500 comes bundled with Adobe Acrobat 9 Standard, providing flexible editing features to enable advanced collaboration.

Built on the success of its predecessor, the ScanSnap S1500M will incorporate new and innovative features, while maintaining the rich software functionality that the Mac community has embraced in the previous version. The latest introduction includes enhanced utility features with the addition of an intelligent resolution function and paper double-feed detection, a redesigned software interface for the Mac OS X v10.5 Leopard, enhanced business card scanning and faster scanning speeds. Equipped with a new design, the scanner boasts speeds of 20 pages per minute (ppm) for single sided documents and 40 images per minute (ipm) for double-sided documents. Furthermore, the ScanSnap S1500M comes bundled with Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional to provide flexible editing features and enable advanced collaboration.

Additionally, Fujitsu will showcase the award-winning ScanSnap S300M, the world’s smallest color, duplex automatic document fed scanner for Mac. Complementing the popularity of mobile productivity solutions among the Mac community, the ScanSnap S300M is a portable scanner, weighing less than 3.1 lbs with an ultra-compact footprint and USB power connection
