TSS-SAT4000 three-way satellite (four 3-1/2-inch Metal Matrix Diaphragm (MMD) woofers, dual 3-1/2-inch MMD midrange drivers and a 3/4-inch MMD tweeter); SRP: $549 each

TSS-CENTER4000 three-way center channel loudspeaker (four 3-1/2-inch MMD woofers, dual 3-1/2-inch MMD midrange drivers and a 3/4-inch MMD tweeter); SRP: $549 each

TSS-SUB4000 powered subwoofer (12-inch MMD woofer, built-in 400-watt amplifier), featuring Infinity’s proprietary Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System (R.A.B.O.S.); SRP: $1,249

Available in a rich platinum finish with matching grilles, TSS-4000 loudspeakers offer unmatched installation flexibility, and enable a broad variety of 7.1-, 6.1- and 5.1-channel system configuration choices. For added flexibility, they can also be matched with other Total Solutions loudspeakers; for example, a pair of TSS-SAT1100 satellites can be used as the surround channels in a TSS-4000 system along with TSS-SAT4000, TSS-CENTER4000 and TSS-SUB4000 models.

An optional flush-mount kit for the satellites and center channel loudspeaker enables them to be recessed into a wall for a clean, understated appearance that makes the TSS-4000 system adaptable to an extremely broad range of architectural, designer and custom-installation applications, and blends with the most elegant room decors and living environments.

The satellites are also supplied with shelf stands of three different heights, enabling the satellites to be placed level with virtually any rear-projection DLP television, or table-top flat-panel LCD or plasma TV, to create a unified, integrated appearance in home entertainment systems based around large-screen video displays. Thanks to the mounting-height options provided by the three different stands, the TSS-SAT4000 satellites offer far more installation versatility than typical satellites. The center channel speaker includes a base for placement on top of or below a TV set or on a shelf.

The magnetically shielded satellites and center channel are also supplied with swivel-bracket mounts that enable installation alongside a wall-mounted plasma or LCD display, and facilitate their use in a wide variety of custom-installation applications.

Infinity’s TSS-4000 loudspeakers are engineered to deliver superlative sound — authoritative bass, a detailed, musically accurate midrange, extended high frequencies, and natural vocal and instrumental reproduction.

All TSS-4000 drivers utilize Infinity’s exclusive MMD technology. MMD driver cones are manufactured by anodizing both sides of an aluminum core to a controlled thickness, producing low-mass, highly rigid driver diaphragms that operate with greatly reduced distortion, and provide exceptional transient response, resolution and smoothness throughout their entire frequency range. The satellites and center channel feature acoustically inert enclosures constructed of extruded and brushed aluminum, which provide significant sonic advantages while imparting a stylish appearance. The TSS-4000 subwoofer features Infinity’s exclusive Room Adaptive Bass Optimization System, which enables it to be precisely tuned to the listening room to obtain accurate bass response.

The Infinity Total Solutions TSS-4000 loudspeaker system will begin shipping in January 2005.

In addition to Infinity’s TSS-4000 system components, the Total Solutions TSS-1100, TSS-750 and TSS-450 systems (SRP: $1,099, $749 and $449, respectively) are currently available, offering a complete range of home theater speaker solutions.

The extremely popular Infinity TSS-750, featured in Infinity’s CES 2005 exhibit, is a complete, 5.1-channel home theater loudspeaker package that incorporates the distinctive styling, outstanding performance and installation flexibility of the Total Solutions design concept in a more compact system configuration that is easy to install in any room.

The TSS-750 (SRP: $749) includes four 2-way satellites, each employing a 3/4-inch MMD tweeter and 3-1/2-inch MMD woofer, a center channel with a 3/4-inch MMD tweeter and dual 3-1/2-inch MMD woofers, and a powered subwoofer incorporating a 10-inch MMD woofer and a built-in 150-watt amplifier. The system is engineered to deliver outstanding musical realism, thanks to its use of MMD drivers throughout, along with premium-quality internal components, a full complement of subwoofer controls and many additional refinements.

The TSS-750, available in a choice of platinum and charcoal finishes with matching grilles, offers a much greater choice of installation options than conventional satellite/subwoofer systems. The satellites’ design enables them to be placed freestanding on a shelf, or mounted on a wall with the unique swivel wall-mount bracket system included with each satellite. Optional matching floor stands are also available. The center channel speaker is supplied with a base for mounting on a TV set or shelf.

ERS 110DT, ERS 310 and ERS HV250: Expanded In-Wall Installation Options

At CES 2005, Infinity Systems is expanding its high-performance ERS Series in-wall and in-ceiling speaker lineup with the introduction of its ERS 110DT dual-tweeter speaker and ERS 310 compact in-wall/in-ceiling speaker, and showcasing its recently introduced ERS HV250 dual-woofer in-wall speaker. The ERS 110DT and ERS 310 utilize Infinity’s patented Ceramic Metal Matrix Diaphragm (CMMD) driver technology and innovative design to deliver outstanding sound quality in a wide range of home entertainment, whole-house and custom-installation applications.

The ERS 110DT, ERS 310 and ERS HV250 are all packaged and sold individually, giving customers and installers the flexibility to choose the exact number and type of speakers needed to complete any stereo music, multichannel home theater or multiroom system. The individual packaging and variety of speaker types gives consumers the ability to perfectly tailor their in-wall home entertainment installations to their specific needs. All three models can also be used as the surround speakers in a system based around Prelude MTS, Beta Series and Primus Series loudspeakers, to create an expansive 360-degree soundspace with a seamless sonic blend between the front and surround channels.

The Infinity ERS 110DT dual-tweeter speaker (dual 3/4-inch CMMD tweeters, 6-1/2-inch CMMD woofer; SRP: $229 each) provides two-channel audio from a single-speaker configuration, making it perfect for applications where space is limited, yet where expansive stereo sound is desired. The ERS 110DT can be used for providing stereo audio in multiroom installations away from the main home entertainment system, and is ideal for use as a surround-effects speaker in spaces where extra speakers cannot be installed.

The ERS 110DT delivers clear and detailed high-frequency response over a wide area, along with outstanding low-frequency definition and presence. The tweeters are mounted alongside each other in precision waveguides in an integrated housing in the center of the speaker, and are designed to create a spacious sonic environment when used as stereo or surround-effects speakers.

The Infinity ERS 310 (SRP: $229 each) employs an 8-inch CMMD woofer for extended, articulate bass response, along with a 1-inch CMMD tweeter that is mounted concentrically in front of the woofer in a specially designed frame, which provides optimum directivity while enabling a more compact, space-saving circular design.

The Infinity ERS HV250 is a versatile dual-woofer speaker that can be mounted either horizontally, for use as the center channel of a home theater system, or vertically, for use as left and right front and surround speakers. When mounted horizontally, it fits inside the standard 16-inch spacing that is used between most wall studs, so no cutting of the studs is required. The ERS HV250 (SRP: $229 each) utilizes dual 5-1/4-inch CMMD woofers flanking a 3/4-inch CMMD tweeter to deliver powerful, dynamic sound quality. The tweeter’s performance is maximized by a waveguide that is optimized for both in-wall and in-ceiling use, with dispersion over a broad listening area.

The tweeters and woofers used in all ERS Series loudspeakers employ CMMD technology — the identical, patented driver technology used in the company’s flagship Prelude MTS models — to deliver a level of sonic accuracy and musicality far beyond conventional in-wall speakers. CMMD driver cones are manufactured by anodizing alumina, a ceramic compound, to both sides of an aluminum core, producing driver diaphragms of ultralow mass and ultrahigh rigidity for extraordinary transient response, with unmatched clarity, resolution and tonal accuracy along with high sensitivity.

The Infinity ERS 110DT, ERS 310 and ERS HV250 are designed for ease of installation in both new homes and existing rooms. They include built-in mounting tabs, and their baffles and grilles can be painted to match any decor. Optional rough-in frames are available for preconstruction installation. In addition, the ERS HV250 features an IR cutout, enabling an IR repeater to be conveniently placed inside the speaker.
