Diskeeper Sells 25 Million Licenses

Diskeeper Corporation announced that its flagship Diskeeper performance enhancement software surpassed 25 million licenses sold–making it the best-selling automatic defragmenter of all time.

Aided by recent sales of Diskeeper’s Vista-compatible 2007 edition, unit sales also reached an astounding 89.8% market share in System Utilities/General Disk Utilities sold (March 2006 – February 2007) according to data from The NPD Group’s Distributor Track.

Fragmentation is a major cause of computer performance degradation. Per The Impact of Disk Fragmentation by storage and security expert, Joe Kinsella, heavy fragmentation can cause applications such as Microsoft Word to slow down by 15x, Internet Explorer by 2x; anti-virus scanner by 3x and Outlook by 3x. It is the mission of Diskeeper to eradicate these delays, thereby restoring system performance and reliability on all systems from the home user to the largest enterprise.

“In a banking institution, we’ve got to keep the system going with no downtime,” notes customer James Williams of First State Bank & Trust. “Diskeeper 2007 works great. The users say they no longer have slowdowns — it is definitely making a difference.”
