Simi Valley – coNEXTion Systems has begun shipping two models in the sonoma Indoor/ Outdoor Speaker Series. The sonoma Series features the world’s first SFPCTM (Side Firing Pneumatic Coupled) indoor/outdoor bass extension system that combines dual passive radiators, molded into the speaker cabinet, with a 5.25″ aluminum driver.
This SFPC system provides exceptional bass response from a small volume cabinet that is far superior to the ported designs on the market and eliminates any risk of moisture damage to the speaker when installed outdoors.
“While developing our sonoma Series of outdoor speakers, we found that many of the competitive designs didn’t offer the acoustic performance that they should, had large ported cabinets that were not weather resistant, were more difficult to install than they needed to be, and had the potential of being stolen with exposed mounting brackets”, coNEXTion President Doug Wright commented. “We knew we could deliver a better sounding and better designed product.”
sonoma features our proprietary all-in-one speaker and installation bracket design that’s ready to install right out of the box and a convenient lever-controlled angling mechanism, providing up to 40° of adjustment. The sonoma speaker uses attractive “end-caps” that hide the four pre-threaded installation screws, the angling lever and the speaker connectors for a more theft resistant installation than the traditional bracket design on the market.
The cabinet is molded from glass filled structural nylon 6/6 for an acoustically inert cabinet that achieves “MDF” type performance from a weather resistant enclosure.
The speaker’s sleek low profile blends easily in all environments and is available in black or white finish. Table top speaker stands are included as an alternative to using the wall mounting bracket.

The sonoma ten, stereo pair design features an all aluminum two-way configuration with a single 5.25″ woofer and a 1″ tweeter, and the dual passive radiators incorporating SFPC.
