CNET Holiday Gift Guide Helps Consumers Find the Perfect Tech Gift

Announces Third Annual Live “Holiday Help Desk” with Nintendo Wii Giveaway

CNET (http://www.cnet.com) makes it easy to find the perfect tech gift this holiday season with the launch of its 2007 Holiday Gift Guide (http://www.cnet.com/holiday-gift-guide). CNET, where people go to discover the latest in tech and consumer electronics and a property of CNET Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:CNET), also announced today that it will give away eight Nintendo Wii Systems — including the Holiday Mega Bundle — during the third annual Holiday Help Desk call-in show on “Black Friday,” November 23.

“Tech and consumer electronic gadgets are at the top of everyone’s list this holiday season, and the need for advice becomes even more intense when people aren’t just shopping for themselves but for their loved ones as well,” said Jai Singh, editor-in-chief of CNET. “CNET’s Holiday Gift Guide takes the guess work out of finding the perfect gift for anyone in the family.”

This year’s Holiday Gift Guide features:

  • Product Recommendations: More than 200 hand-picked product recommendations are broken down into 10 categories, including cameras and camcorders, cars and car tech, cell phones and smartphones, desktops, gaming gear, GPS, home theater, laptops, MP3 and portable video players, and TVs.
  • Green Gift Guide: For the eco-conscious, CNET editors share their gift ideas from compact fluorescent bulb recycling kits to hybrid cars, as well as tips on how to reduce power consumption.
  • Ultimate Luxuries: For those who like to indulge or can only afford to daydream about extravagant tech, CNET editors rounded up 15 ultimate luxuries — everything from the Million Dollar Fishing Lure to the LG Prada smartphone.

On November 23 — or “Black Friday” — CNET will host its Holiday Help Desk live on CNET TV (http://www.cnettv.com). The 10-hour tech-advice marathon, co-hosted by CNET editors Brian Cooley, Molly Wood and Tom Merritt, runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. PST. Viewers can send their questions via email or can call 888-900-CNET (2638) to speak directly with the CNET editors.

Beginning at 10 a.m. PST, every hour one lucky caller will be selected to win one of this year’s most wanted gaming consoles — a Nintendo Wii System with the Holiday Mega Bundle (valued at $599.99). The bundle includes the following games: Nintendo Wii System with Wii Sports; Super Paper Mario; Mario Party 8; Mario Strikers Charged; Donkey Kong: Barrel Blast; Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess; Metroid Prime 3: Corruption; and Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. In addition to answering calls from listeners and responding to e-mails, the show will also feature shopping roundup video reports from the streets of New York and San Francisco.
