Carver Digital NeoSys Audio Distribution System

New Multi-Source, Multi-Zone, 2-Way Technology Ensures the Reliable and Accurate Reproduction of Music and Audio Throughout the House

Carver Digital introduces NeoSys, a sophisticated new digital audio distribution system for homes at the International Consumer Electronics Show, in Las Vegas.

Developed by Phoenix Gold, NeoSys is a digital multi-source, multi-zone audio distribution technology is designed to ensure the reliable, intuitive and accurate reproduction of audio program material from multiple sources throughout a user’s home. It represents an important breakthrough as the first practical application of advanced concepts that have emerged recently from digital recording studios.

NeoSys has the capability to digitally transmit better than CD-quality audio and infrared (IR) and control data to 64 zones over a single Category 5e cable, ending the need for installers to snake fistfuls of cable through the walls. Because NeoSys is bi-directional, users can also add sources from a remote location. A 24-bit, 48-kHz sampling rate ensures the most stable and precise audio performance available.

The core of NeoSys is the Alesis ADAT optical transmission format, a stable, thoroughly tested technology that radically changed how artists approached recording in home studios. The Alesis ADAT digital tape recorder revolutionized the recording industry in 1990, and offers a proven platform for digitally transporting audio signals.

Phoenix Gold has taken this a step further by enabling the control data to flow in a two-way networked environment, and designed it to operate in a point-to-point (daisy-chain) or star configuration. When the system is on, NeoSys-connected devices communicate with each other, determining the best way to route and distribute audio signals.

NeoSys will be available in the Summer of 2005. It was seen with other fine products from Phoenix Gold in Booth 20968, Las Vegas Convention Center, during CES.

Phoenix Gold International, Inc., founded in 1985 and located in Portland, Oregon, designs, manufactures, and sells innovative high quality, high performance electronics, accessories and speakers to the audio market. The Company’s products are used in the car audio aftermarket, professional sound installations, and in custom audio/video and home theater applications.
