BenQ i500 Smart Projector Cuts the Cord

BenQ i500 Smart Projector

BenQ today announced the i500, a stylish mini home entertainment projector with a built-in media player and speaker. This $750 compact device projects WXGA (1280×800) images up to 80 inches at just 3.3 feet from the wall no matter the location, enabling big picture watching even in tight spaces thanks to its short-throw lens. In addition to convenience, its LED light source lasts for up to 20,000 hours of entertainment without any color decay or the need to change a lamp. The Smart Projector enables multimedia content streaming via Bluetooth, giving you a new way to enjoy movies, music, games, photo slideshows and more at the push of a button from any smart device or computer.

Pre-loaded with an Android OS and a built-in media player, you can instantly launch today’s most popular apps and streaming services like YouTube, Vimeo, Spotify, Netflix, Hulu, video games, and more directly from the i500 projector — cutting the cord and eliminating cables, set-top boxes, or streaming dongles. The i500 sports a contemporary gold finish to seamlessly blend with existing décor. Gorgeous looks, easy streaming, powerful sound, eco-friendliness, and a number of connectivity options make the i500 the perfect home entertainment companion anywhere, anytime — whether indoors, outdoors, or on the road.

The BenQ i500 is powered by Digital Light processing (DLP) Colorific technology and delivers an impressive 1.07 Billion colors which ensure that everything being projected is accurate and crisp. The Colorific technology is complemented by a 10:000:1 contrast ratio and WXGA (1280×800) HD resolution which elevate the viewing experience.
