soundmatters Unveils foxLTM:
A Pocket-sized Audiophile Portable Music System

Available with and without Bluetooth, foxL’s tiny form-factor
belies its powerful, high-fidelity sound quality

DENVER, CO, September 2, 2008 — soundmatters international inc. today unveiled a technologically advanced audiophile-grade portable stereo loudspeaker system that it describes as: “The first pocket-sized music system good enough for audio purists.”

Dubbed foxLTM, it measures only 5.6″ wide x 2.2″ deep x 1.4″ high, yet it provides full range output (80Hz — 20kHz), with real bass and a wide array of connection options.

“foxL is a direct result of our founder, Dr. Godehard Guenther, having traveled extensively over the last few years,” said Lee Adams, soundmatters’ Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “One thing he noticed is that there are no audiophile-grade portable speaker options for travelers who want to enjoy music while on the road.”

“Conventional wisdom dictates that full-range sonics are not possible from a console the size of a candy bar, but Dr. Guenther believes that deviation from the norm is essential to creative and successful product development,” added Adams. “With foxL, he knows that he isn’t the only music lover who would appreciate better sound in hotel rooms or other limited space environments. Simply put, he designed a portable speaker that he himself had wanted.”

foxL’s sonic performance is the end-result of several newly designed and updated components, particularly two 2 1″ Linear Magnetic Drive TwoofersTM tuned to 100Hz. soundmatters’ Twoofer features field-focused, back to back, dual Extreme-EnergyTM neodymium magnets and bifilar, 1″ dual voice coils. This exclusive soundmatters technology enhances mid-range vocal performance and extended bass well beyond other similarly sized speakers. soundmatters adapted its patented FlatMagicTM bass radiator design for the foxL diminutive cabinet.

Available with and without Bluetooth connectivity, the latter option makes it easy to enjoy music streamed wirelessly from compatible devices, or conduct phone hands-free telephone conversations or conference calls. The internal noise/echo canceling microphone enhances communications with minimal interference from ancillary noise.

foxL’s lithium-ion BassBatteryTM lasts up to five hours on a single charge. But, what makes the BassBattery unique is the way in which it also serves as mass for the FlatMagic bass radiator (Patent pending.) A protective grille doubles as a foldout speaker stand.

foxL will be available early September at suggested retailer prices of $249 and $199 for the Bluetooth (foxLmb) and non-Bluetooth (foxL) models, respectively. The foxL package also includes an AC adapter, USB power cable, 3.5mm stereo audio cable, pouch and wrist strap. foxL and all soundmatters products will be on display at the CEDIA EXPO, Denver, CO, Sept. 4-7, Booth #SR-8.
