Lamborghini’s $600,000+ Revuelto Hybrid Supercar Will Feature Premium Sonus faber Sound System

Lamborghini’s newest hybrid supercar will have a sound system to match the driving performance.

Sonus faber audio system in Lamborghini Revuelto Hybrid Supercar

Audiophiles worldwide know Sonus faber for their impeccable loudspeaker designs and top-notch sound quality. The company has been making its iconic loudspeakers in Vicenza, Italy for over 40 years. More recently, Sonus faber has partnered with Italian automakers to bring their signature “natural sound” to the cabin of high performance automobiles. Maserati’s MC20, Grecale and Granturismo all feature sound by Sonus faber, as does the Pagani Huayra hypercar. I’ve driven the Grecale and spent some quality time with the Sonus faber system inside it. It is an impresive-sounding system indeed and able to hold its own even up against the throaty growl of the Maserati’s engine. It appears that Sonus faber’s automotive journey continues.

Today, Sonus faber and Automobili Lamborghini jointly announced that the upcoming Lamborghini Revuelto will come with a customized version of Sonus faber’s premium automotive audio system, tailor-made and fine-tuned for the hybrid super sports car.

Lamborghini and Sonus faber each represent the pinnacle of Italian artistry and performance — one in audio, one in automotive — so the partnership makes perfect sense. Available for preorder starting this month (May, 2024), the new Revuelto will be the first Lamborghini vehicle available to customize with Sonus faber’s inimitable automotive audio system. The system was born out of the joint efforts of Sonus faber’s R&D and Design department — headed by Livio Cucuzza – and Lamborghini’s design team. According to the company, the Sonus faber audio system will immerse the driver in a “symphony of design and sound in a way that only two Italian legacy brands can.”

“The collaboration with Lamborghini is an extremely important milestone for Sonus faber, further expanding the brand into the luxury car segment,” said Fiore Cappelletto, Vice President and General Manager Automotive at McIntosh Group (Sonus faber’s parent company). “Working on the Revuelto has been exhilarating yet challenging given the cabin’s restrictions and the sound of their incredible V12 behind the seats. Thanks to the joint work between the teams in Sant ‘Agata and Vicenza, the journey has been remarkable, and we hope to transfer our passion at Sonus faber to every Revuelto customer. In fact, the system we engineered and tuned fully embodies Sonus faber’s world famous natural sound. We are honored and grateful for the trust that Lamborghini extended to us on this project.”

“The Lamborghini Revuelto epitomizes the all-encompassing physical and emotive sensations of a super sports car, and the inclusion of the Sonus faber audio system complements this experience,” said Christian Mastro, Marketing Director of Automobili Lamborghini. “The Sonus faber audio system for the Lamborghini Revuelto combines technology, design and performance as well as the Made in Italy trademark, reflecting the heritage of both our brands and delivering our clients a uniquely tuned in-car audio experience.”

Details on the Sonus faber Audio System inside the Lamborghini Revuelto

The Lamborghini Revuelto sound system by Sonus faber features seven speakers in total, with one tweeter and one mid-woofer in each door, one full-range driver in the dashboard as center channel, and two integrated full-range speakers with surround function, positioned right behind the driver and passenger. This speaker placement enriches the sound experience by extending its depth and enveloping occupants in a spacious-sounding acoustic environment. The center channel speaker is designed and tuned to provide a distinctive sound experience directly in front of the driver and passenger, helping recreate a detailed and immersive soundstage. An exclusive phase plug and natural fiber composite material have been developed to match the acoustics and aesthetic design of the Revuelto. Each element was chosen to enhance the in-car experience and was specifically engineered to deliver Sonus faber’s unique, emotion-evoking natural sound.

A full-range speaker on each side, behind the driver and passenger, provides an immersive soundfield that envelops the listeners.

The system introduces a new Full Class D amplifier delivering up to 750 Watts of power, which, in combination with a powerful DSP (Digital Signal Processor), ensures smooth translation of electrical signals into high quality sound within the confines of a car cabin. Control for the system including song selection, audio adjustments and playback are integrated into the Revuelto’s large central infotainment screen.

Details on the Lamborghini Revuelto Hybrid Super Sports Car

The Lamborghini Revuelto features a hybrid drivetrain, but this hybrid has virtually nothing in common with your auntie’s Prius. The company refers to it as an HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle). The supercar combines a V12 engine with three independent electric motors to maximize torque and acceleration over an extended range. It is rated at 1015 total HP, can reach 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds and has a top speed of 350 km/h.

As a hybrid, the Revuelto does offer a “Città” (city) driving mode which uses only the electric motors for propulsion to limit local emissions. But when you want to feel the full power of the Lambo, choose “Corsa” or “Sport” modes to unleash the full combined power of the V12 and electric motors.

The chassis of the Revuelto is entirely new and takes the concept of carbon fiber monocoque to a whole new level by extending its application to the front end, creating a monofuselage inspired by aeronautics. This maximizes weight reduction, tensional stiffness and strength to protect the vehicle and its occupants in case of an accident.

The Revuelto is said to be the most customizable Lamborghini ever. Multiple personalization options are available through the Lamborghini Ad Personam program: interior and exterior colors, trims and materials, and even innovative carbon fiber interior components which are unique to the Revuelto. From the most basic to the most exclusive, customers can choose from four levels of personalization to make their HPEV even more extraordinary, reflecting the owner’s individual tastes and preferences.
