Universal Electronics Announces Seamless Integration of its NevoSL™ With the SpeakerCraft MODE Jukebox Music Server

Leading wireless technology developer Universal Electronics Inc. (UEI) (NASDAQ: UEIC) today announced that its innovative NevoSL, a universal controller that intuitively delivers complete A/V and digital media control for the networked home, and the SpeakerCraft MODE Jukebox music server now offer seamless integration. Consumers can access all MODE Jukebox music files and control its functions while albums, art images and other information are displayed on the NevoSL screen.

The integration of NevoSL with other home digital media devices provides a powerful control combination for the consumer. The collaboration with SpeakerCraft enhances the solution both companies’ products offer to consumers and dealers. MODE Jukebox, controlled by NevoSL, allows consumers to have a single point to control virtually all their home theatre, A/V equipment while bridging the gap between digital music content stored on the MODE Jukebox. Consumers can play and interact with virtually any song in up to four media zones supported by the MODE Jukebox One or Jukebox Four, all from the palm of their hand.

Both models of the SpeakerCraft MODE Jukebox are now compatible with the NevoSL. On these models, up to four streams of high quality uncompressed audio can be delivered to a conventional multi-room amplifier. A single output SpeakerCraft MODE Jukebox can serve multiple listeners simultaneously by interfacing with selected universal plug and play (UPnP) streaming devices. Using UPnP technology, NevoSL is able to automatically discover media content on the MODE Jukebox and display metadata content on the display for users to browse and select. To stream music, users can simply select what they want to listen to and where they want to enjoy it.

Since its launch, NevoSL has quickly become a favorite of the professional custom installer and has garnered numerous industry awards, including Residential Systems’ RESI Award for Best Handheld Controller, the Electronic House “Product of the Year,” and CEDIA Australia’s Best in Show.

“The compatibility of the SpeakerCraft MODE Jukebox with NevoSL from Universal Electronics makes the user interface easier than ever before,” said Jeff Francisco, vice president of product development for SpeakerCraft. “The large display screen and easy to use features of NevoSL provide a powerful addition to the SpeakerCraft MODE Jukebox user experience.”

“UEI works hard to make NevoSL compatible with the best multimedia products in the industry.” says Ramzi Ammari, vice president of product development for UEI. “The compatibility with the SpeakerCraft MODE Jukebox empowers the user with unprecedented control that is very easy to use and easy for the dealer to install.”
