GefenTV Scaler Pro Wins Electronic House Product of the Year

Digital connectivity solutions provider Gefen Inc. is pleased to announce that its consumer-focused Home Theater Scaler Pro snagged recognition as one of the year’s most innovative products by the editors of Electronic House magazine. The awards program proactively seeks out newly available and soon to be released products boasting noteworthy technological achievements and extraordinary features for today’s connected home.

The GefenTV Scaler Pro offers an easy and high quality method of connecting old and new video formats, outputting each audio/video source in the HDMI format for a seamless connection to a hi-def flat panel display. The Silicon Optix Realta chipset offers HQV (Hollywood Quality Video) scaling, allowing users to refine their video using advanced image enhancement technology for the best, most vibrant performance.

This high-end scaling solution accepts one component, one s-video, one composite, and two HDMI audio/video sources, supporting set-top boxes, VCR players, Blu-ray players, camcorders and PS3 or Xbox 360 consoles. Each video input comes with supplemental audio, which is integrated into the HDMI format and delivered alongside in mirrored S/PDIF and TOSlink outputs. Analog L/R inputs are provided for the component, s-video and composite video inputs; digital S/PDIF and TOSlink inputs are provided for the HDMI input to accommodate a DVI with audio connection.

An on-screen display guides users through simple menus designed to control system settings and selections. The Gefen IR remote enables point and click access to all the video sources using the same hi-def display.

Full support for the HDMI v1.3 format, HDCP-compliance and value added features like source switching make this a highly desired solution for home theater applications.

The GefenTV Scaler Pro (MSRP $699) will be featured in the September issue of Electronic House magazine, and will receive recognition at a special breakfast during the CEDIA Expo on Saturday, September 6 at the Denver City Center Marriott in Denver, Colorado.
