Zensonic Announces the Z400 Digital Network Home Media Player

Play movies, music and photos to your TV wirelessly!
Monday 21st June 2004

AUSTRALIANS will be able to play back movie files stored on their PC directly to their TV using high-speed 802.11g wireless for less than $369.

The new Australian-designed Zensonic Z400 is a sleek set-top box which can play MPEG-4 video, MP3 audio and JPEG pictures directly to a TV and stereo system.

Using a custom-designed on-screen TV interface, Z400 users can browse their PC’s movie collection, photos and music directly from the comfort of their lounge-room.

“We created the Z400 to serve the huge demand from users for a solution that ties their digital content stored on their PC to their home-theatre system,” said Zensonic’s Raaj Menon.

“Home networks are now enormously popular, and the in-built 802.11g wireless networking of the Z400 eliminates the need to have ugly cables running into your loungeroom,” he said.

The 802.11g wireless connects at more than twice the speed of older-style 802.11b WiFi, found in some competing network media players, explained Menon, allowing higher quality media formats such as MPEG-2 to be played wirelessly.

The unit even includes an illuminated remote control, so fumbling for the right button in the dark becomes a thing of the past.
