Yamaha just introduced the $450 AVENTAGE BD-A1040, its fullest featured, universal Blu-ray Disc player to date with expanded connectivity that includes Bluetooth for the first time. Designed and engineered with the same granular attention to detail as the company’s premium and critically-acclaimed series of AVENTAGE AV receivers, the BD-A1040 presents exciting new possibilities for home theater enjoyment.
AVENTAGE build quality features include a high-grade aluminum front panel that dampens vibrations, as well as symmetrical audio circuitry design with 192 kHz/32-bit DAC and gold-plated output terminals. Ensuring the highest video quality, the BD-A1040 features 1080p/24 Hz HDMI video output, x.v.Color and Deep Color compatibility, video noise reduction and 1080p playback for DVDs, photos and home videos.
This model supports Blu-ray 3D, SACD and DVD-Audio formats and has built in Wi-Fi. Wireless Direct provides an untethered connection to Miracast-enabled smartphones and tablets to play and share music, videos, games or apps via this player to a TV. With the built-in Wi-Fi, consumers can streamline system configuration through a setup wizard, as well as use the top-rated AV Controller App for iOS and Android devices to control the player from a smartphone or tablet device.
The BD-A1040 provides access to VUDU, Dropbox, YouTube Leanback and Picasa Web Albums for video on demand, as well as music and picture viewing from these online services or network hard drives. The player offers wide-ranging format compatibility including H.264, MPEG PS, MPEG TS, MPEG-4, VOB, AVI, ASF, WMV, DivX Plus HD and AVCHD. The BD-A1040 is also DLNA Certified, enabling it to stream content from compatible devices.
