Xantech Adds New CAT5 HDMI & IR Control Extender to its Full Line of HDMI Products

New HDMIC5IR Merges XTRALINK Remote Control and High Definition Distribution Over Easy-to-Use CAT5 Cables

Sylmar, Calif. — February 4, 2008 — Xantech Corporation, a leading producer of innovative, reliable and problem-solving custom installation signal processing and control systems, is now shipping its newest addition to the HDMI product line, the HDMIC5IR.

The HDMIC5IR provides High Definition distribution over CAT5 cables. Using the same CAT5 cables, any Xantech IR system can be added providing remote control extension between video source and video display. One ideal application for the HDMIC5IR is overhead video projectors. Providing HDMI over CAT5 allows the installer to use low cost, construction-friendly CAT5 cables when doing wire runs from the equipment rack to an overhead location. In addition, the IR capabilities can control the video projector from the equipment rack or central IR receiver. Another popular application is distributing high-definition to a wall-mounted flat-screen panel display. The video source, such as a high-definition cable box, can now be hidden in a remote location giving the flat-screen panel display location true freedom.

“After the product line’s introduction, Xantech HDMI became an instant hit,” said Wes Ferris, director of sales for Xantech. “My fellow sales managers and I are very excited to add a very versatile piece to our excellent and extensive HDMI product line. The installer will be happy with the number of solutions the HDMIC5IR can provide. Installation is quick and easy with the auto-sync feature.”

Probably the least noticed feature of the HDMIC5IR is the auto-sync feature. The HDMIC5IR has a synch LED that confirms a proper connection has been made between the transmitter and receiver. With auto-sync the HDMIC5IR can automatically adjust to variable cable lengths. With other systems, POT and DIP switch adjustments are required to get a traditional transmitter and receiver setup working. With auto-sync, one less installation step is required making setup quick and easy.

In Brief: Release Summary
• The HDMIC5IR is a new addition to Xantech’s extensive line of HDMI products. Retail price is $340.
• The HDMIC5IR features an auto-sync connection that automatically adjusts the system to variable cable lengths. No DIP switch or POT adjustments are required.
