VUDU Soars to Over 1,100 HD Titles; Company Adds 150 Titles Per Week in October; Pledges Continued Aggressive Roll Out of HD Titles Weekly

VUDU announced today the availability of more than 1,100 HD titles for instant, on-demand viewing, giving the VUDU owners access to the largest library of HD content in existence. VUDU also pledged to continue to aggressively expand this HD library further in the coming weeks. The combination of this massive HD library, which spans mainstream new releases to independent titles and classics, with VUDU’s two high quality HD formats, instant-start HD and the superior HDX format, make VUDU the most convenient and exciting choice for consumers who love HD content.

To achieve this milestone, the company added on average over 150 HD titles per week in October alone. Every week, VUDU delivers directly to the home of its subscribers the latest HD releases from all of Hollywood’s major studios and a select group of the most recognized independent film studios. This vast and growing HD collection is part of the total VUDU library of more than 10,000 titles.

“We’re certainly proud to offer the largest HD library on the planet, but the motivation to accomplish this really sprang from our customers, retail partners and home theater installation professionals, all of whom were asking for more HD content,” said Edward Lichty, Executive Vice President of Content at VUDU. “And this is only the beginning of our effort. We plan to maintain a leadership position in offering the best picture quality experience and the deepest library anywhere when it comes to HD.”

Every HD movie offered on VUDU plays instantly on the TV, no waiting for downloads or buffering streaming content for users with Internet bandwidth of 4Mbps or more.

VUDU is the only service to offer both instant-start HD and HDX, the highest quality on-demand format available anywhere on cable, satellite, broadcast, or the Internet. Designed to deliver an optimized cinematic experience to owners of 40-inch and larger HDTV’s and projectors, HDX with VUDU’s TruFilm technology features a virtually artifact free 1080p picture and immersive, high definition sound.
