Morgan Hill, CA (September 26, 2007) — Velodyne Acoustics, Inc. announced that the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) recently selected the SPL-1200R as the European Home Theater Subwoofer of the Year 2007-2008. EISA is Europe’s largest editorial multimedia organization comprised of nearly 50 leading photo, video, audio, home theater, and mobile electronics magazines from 18 European countries.
Each year EISA judges review the latest products to determine the best in each category. Winning products are judged to combine the most advanced technology, most desirable features, ultimate expression of design, most satisfying ergonomics and greatest value for money. EISA recognizes the features most likely to be appreciated by a consumer seeking high quality and creative facilities.
In its official award citation, the EISA judging panel states: “The beautifully finished Velodyne SPL-1200R is an incredibly small and versatile subwoofer, which includes a powerful 1000 Watt digital amplifier and a sturdy 12-inch driver with Kevlar-reinforced diaphragm. It’s the perfect choice for a serious home theater setup, or as a replacement for the standard subwoofer that accompanies the usual home theater packages. Room bass correction increases its tolerance of different locations, while a microphone, DSP processor and automatic calibration system aid accurate system tuning.
