ValueFirst represents in CIO Summit Enterprise Mobility Strategy Summit, organized by Dataquest
India, December 2006
Amongst the fanfare of consumer-centric mobile services and applications, enterprise mobility is emerging as a key segment in the mobility space. Dataquest, a leading publication in the arena of IT and emerging technologies, organized a CIO summit on the enterprise mobility strategy being formulated by the CIOs of manufacturing and service enterprises.
The summit was organized in four cities — Chennai, New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. The key participants in the summit were players like Airtel, Lenovo, Symbol and ValueFirst representing different stakeholders in the enterprise mobility value chain. A few key points that emerged in the discussion were that enterprises are looking for low TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) and high ROI (Return on Investment) solutions to mobile enable their business processes. The PDA-centric solutions have not got the approval of CIOs even in the western world because of high initial investment.
On the contrary, SMS based enterprise solutions have picked up the fancy of enterprises and every vertical, be it stock-broking, manufacturing, ITES, e-business, construction, education and hospitality. ValueFirst, a leader in enterprise mobility solutions, has over 650 enterprises in India alone. Apart from that it is also expanding its operations in Europe, Asia-pacific and Africa.
The summit concluded that the future of enterprise mobility is seamless integration of mobile channel with the existing ERPs and CRMs. ValueFirst has been an early entrant in the market and has been serving large number of enterprises by providing them SMS plug-ins for SAP and Oracle Applications.
