UK Producer James Lewis Uses Avastor Hard Drives

James Lewis, one of the UK’s rising producers, engineers, mixers and songwriters in genres ranging from indie rock to dance, continues to choose Avastor’s HDX-800 triple interface drives for tracking via Pro Tools. Working with such artists as Arctic Monkeys, The Pistolas and Simon Webbe, whose single “Ride The Storm” was produced and mixed by Lewis and chosen as the main title track for Fantastic Four: Rise of Silver Surfer, it’s no wonder why Lewis required a drive that would outlast the competition.

“The Avastor drives give me the performance I need when tracking and editing during long sessions,” says Lewis, who is currently recording the band OK at Mayfair Studios in London, England. “I like the professional build specifications; notably the cooling fan and the grounded internal AC power supply. It’s a well thought out product with pro features that you don’t often see in external FireWire drives.”

The ultimate storage solution for audio/video professionals, Avastor’s HDX-800 offers the highest transfer rates for both MAC and PC based workstations with its dual FireWire 800 ports. The HDX-800 drive has storage capacities from 80GB to 1TB in a FireWire 800/400/USB 2.0 enclosure, that is also equipped with an internal 110/220V auto switching power supply and ultra quiet ball-bearing cooling fan.

Protape Ltd., Avastor’s exclusive distributor in the UK, supplies Lewis with Avastor drives.
