Tripp Lite Introduces Innovative USB Combo Adapter for Easy Configuration of Hard Drives

Chicago, IL (August 29, 2007)–Tripp Lite, a world-leading manufacturer of power protection and connectivity equipment, has introduced a USB 2.0 SATA/IDE Combo Adapter (model #: U238-000) that enables easy configuration of hard drives without having to perform an internal installation first.

“Tripp Lite’s new USB combo adapter offers maximum convenience in today’s busy world of computing,” states David Posner, Tripp Lite Director of Product Marketing for Connectivity Products. “Now users can configure an internal hard drive externally and can transfer and store data between internal and external drives without installation hassles.”

The new U238-000 USB 2.0 SATA/IDE Combo Adapter allows individual or simultaneous connection of a computer hard drive to a SATA and IDE drive, conveniently turning them into an external USB 2.0 storage device. This means data can be easily transferred from a hard drive to the auxiliary drives–or directly between the auxiliary drives–without installing them directly. In addition, with USB 2.0 technology, data can be transferred at speeds up to 480Mbps. The U238-000 supports 2.5″, 3.5″ and 5.25″ SATA and IDE devices and includes a serial ATA cable, 2.5″ and 3.5″ IDE converter, 100-240V AC/DC power adapter and HDD power cable for ultimate flexibility and convenience. All Tripp Lite cable and connectivity products come with a lifetime product warranty.
