Tivoli Audio Model Sub Rethinks Wi-Fi Subwoofer Design

Tivoli Audio Model Sub laying flat in cabinet white/grey

Tivoli Audio just released the Model Sub wireless subwoofer to complement their ART line of speakers. The $400 Model Sub does not resemble the look of traditional subwoofers. It is designed to be wall-mounted, displayed on the floor, or laid flat and hidden away under a cabinet. The wi-fi sub is constructed of furniture-grade wood in walnut, black or white, and finished with a Danish-made Gabriel fabric speaker grill. Inside are two passive and one active drivers with a built-in crossover for tuning with existing speakers.

Using Tivoli Audio’s app, seamlessly connect the Model Sub with other ART by Tivoli Audio speakers to create wireless hi-fi systems and multi-room audio experiences. For those who prefer a more traditional non-wireless speaker setup, the Model Sub can be plugged into any audio receiver using the Model Sub’s analog line input. Multiple subwoofers can be confgured and playback on a single wireless network.

The new Tivoli Audio Wireless app, created with partner Core DNA, features a creative and intuitive visual interface, which enables users to connect a single or multiple speakers to a Wi-Fi network and configure audio systems with just a few taps. Users can instantly enjoy their personal music collection or stream from services including Spotify, Tidal, and more. The app allows users to keep their ART collection system up-to-date with the latest technology with periodic over the air firmware updates.

The development of the new Tivoli Audio app and the Model Sub was led by the company’s chief product designer, Paul De Pasquale. De Pasquale says, “The Model Sub allows us to extend the full capabilities of the ART collection by providing audiophiles and design lovers with the ability to customize their wireless home audio experience. And with the latest version of our app, we’ve created an easy-to-use and visually compelling interface, which mirrors Tivoli Audio’s legacy of quality and design. With the app and the Model Sub, we really created a wireless system that is not fixed, but evolves to meet anyone’s needs.”

The Model Sub is available now for $399.99 in black/black, white/grey, or walnut/grey.
