Terk Announces Smart Digital Adapters for Kenwood Car Stereos

Commack, NY, January 7, 2004 — TERK Technologies today announced it that will produce a smart digital adapter for connecting the XM Direct Universal Tuner Box to Kenwood aftermarket car stereo head units.

The XM Direct Universal Tuner Box is an ultra-compact, universal tuner module that connects to a satellite-ready in-dash car stereo, enabling the driver to tune into XM Satellite Radio’s 101 radio channels using the existing car stereo controls.

The TERK smart digital adapter for Kenwood links the XM Direct Universal Tuner Box to a Kenwood satellite-ready car stereo. With an XM Direct Universal Tuner Box and a TERK smart digital adapter, any vehicle with a satellite-ready Kenwood head unit can receive XM Satellite Radio programming.

The XM Direct Tuner Box has an open operating system that makes it possible for third-party companies to develop a wide range of adapter cables, to satisfy consumer demand in the automobile aftermarket and OEM segments.

Steve Roth, CEO, TERK Technologies pointed out: “Demand for satellite radio tuners and accessories continues to increase at a remarkable rate. Thanks to our smart digital adapter, consumers who own or plan to purchase Kenwood satellite-ready car stereos can now have total access to all the exciting and diverse programming offered by XM Radio.”
