Telos Corporation today announced it has signed an agreement with OQO Inc. to sell the OQO model 02 ultra-mobile PC (UMPC) through several federal government contract vehicles.

The OQO model 02 is a fully featured Windows XP / Vista™ computer that weighs just one pound and is small enough to fit into a pocket. The full-powered PC runs full versions of mission-critical applications with a 1.5GHz processor, 60GB hard disk drive and 1GB of RAM. The OQO model 02 is packaged in an ergonomic form factor and is dockable to create a desktop computing experience. It offers embedded EV-DO wireless broadband capability with service from either Verizon Wireless or Sprint.

Telos is the exclusive reseller for the OQO model 02 across several contract vehicles including the Air Force’s NETCENTS, Army Netcom BPA, the Bureau of Prisons’ BOPNET, and the Defense Manpower Data Center’s contract vehicles. In addition, the OQO model 02 is available on Telos’ GSA schedule and through the Army Desktop and Mobile Computing-2 (ADMC-2) contract vehicles under a different arrangement.

“The UMPC space continues to gain market share from the laptop market and vertical industries are now beginning to realize its benefits,” said John Inkley, director of federal sales, OQO Inc. “As federal employees continue to become more mobile, the power and flexibility offered by the model 02 enables the anytime/anywhere productivity they require.”

“Telos continues to offer truly innovative products that satisfy our government customers’ unique and demanding requirements,” said Ralph Buona, vice president of Telos Managed Solutions. “Weighing in at just one pound and with industry-leading features and usability, the OQO offers tremendous flexibility, multiple communications options, and Common Access Card (CAC) integration. We are offering the OQO as the cornerstone of several integrated product solutions as well.”
