TEAC Unveils NT-507T: All-Digital Roon Ready Network Transport Joins Reference 500 Series

A refined, purpose-built streamer for DAC owners who want TEAC’s engineering and don’t mind paying a premium for purity. Everyone else will find more features—and fewer cables—for less.

TEAC NT-507T Network Transport

TEAC has expanded its Reference 500 Series with the new NT-507T, an all-digital network transport designed for high-resolution audio streaming. Built as a companion to the UD-507 DAC/preamp but compatible with any USB-equipped DAC, the NT-507T features TEAC’s proprietary TRDD-5 discrete DAC and the advanced Network Engine G4, delivering premium performance for audiophiles seeking a dedicated digital streaming solution.

TEAC NT-507T: Pure USB Streaming, No Touchscreen Needed

Yet another streamer enters the market—but this one doesn’t include its own DAC. The TEAC NT-507T outputs USB digital audio and pairs with the UD-507 DAC/preamp, which uses TEAC’s TRDD-5 discrete DAC. It is also compatible with any USB-equipped DAC.

TEAC keeps usability front and center with the NT-507T, which works with OpenHome-compatible apps, including TEAC’s own HR Streamer. The USB Volume Function allows users to adjust the volume of connected USB DACs or preamps directly from the app.

The NT-507T supports high-resolution streaming via TIDAL Connect, Spotify Connect, and Qobuz Connect, and includes a dedicated Roon Ready mode for integration with multi-room systems and high-resolution playback setups. Two USB ports allow direct connection of flash drives, HDDs, or SSDs, letting the NT-507T function as a basic music server—no need for a separate NAS.

The TEAC NT-507T is a dedicated digital streaming transport—no DAC, no touchscreen, just a purpose-built USB output for high-purity playback. Connectivity covers dual network interfaces with an integrated switch (SFP + RJ45), SFP optical isolation, Wi-Fi 6, and a high-quality USB Type-A output that handles DSD 22.5 MHz and PCM up to 768 kHz/32-bit.

Inside, a clean toroidal transformer with independent windings supplies dedicated power to the network, USB outputs, Wi-Fi, and LED sections, while discrete DC regulators and a linear power supply replace noisy switching circuits to maintain signal integrity. The NT-507T also features a semi-floating aluminum top panel and stress-less isolation feet to reduce vibration.

At its core is TEAC’s Network Engine G4, a processing platform developed specifically for audio streaming, ensuring timing accuracy and stable performance. Control comes via the TEAC HR Streamer app or other OpenHome-compatible apps, and the USB Volume Function lets you adjust connected DACs or preamps directly.

Two USB ports allow playback from flash drives, HDDs, or SSDs, making it a simple music server for those who don’t want yet another box cluttering the rack.

The Bottom Line

The TEAC NT-507T takes a purist approach to streaming—no DAC, no touchscreen, no bloat. Its strength lies in its clean digital architecture: the custom Network Engine G4, a linear power supply with isolated sections, and wide support for high-res formats up to DSD 22.5 MHz and PCM 768 kHz/32-bit. Build quality and engineering are unmistakably TEAC—rigid, quiet, and focused on signal integrity.

That said, at $2,499 USD, the NT-507T faces an uphill fight. Competitors like WiiM, Eversolo, Cambridge Audio, and Bluesound offer capable network players with built-in DACs, polished interfaces, and multi-room support for far less. The TEAC appeals to the minimalist who already owns a serious DAC and values precision over convenience. For everyone else, the lack of an onboard DAC or touchscreen may feel like an omission rather than a design choice.
