Sonance Debuts Three Architectural Series In-Wall Woofers

386599.jpg

San Clemente, CA–September 6, 2007–Sonance, the company that introduced the first in-wall loudspeaker 25 years ago, will unveil three in-wall woofer designs at the 2007 CEDIA Show in Denver, Colorado. The new Sonance X8 Architectural Series Woofers are designed to augment the sonic characteristics of the exciting Architectural Series in-wall and in-ceiling speakers–the first trim-less and truly flush-mount design perfectly aligning the plane of the grille with the plane of the wall or ceiling.

Architectural Series Woofers are available in all three Architectural Series geometric forms, rectangular, round, and square so they can be used to enhance the bass performance of any Architectural Series speaker installation. All three Woofers can be used with any style Architectural Series finish component-metal *(with or without trim), cloth (with or without trim). Finish Components are available separately.

All three models of the X8 Architectural Series Woofer are powered by an external, separate-component Sonamp power amplifier that delivers 150 watts of power (available separately). The amplifier includes flexible connections for easy integration into
any audio system, as well as front-panel volume, crossover and phase controls to allow for fine-tuning of woofer performance for a variety of listening environments.

The Sonance X8/R/S Woofers, which are functionally identical in performance, feature a long-throw 8-inch carbon-fiber cone to deliver the deep, powerful bass more commonly associated with large, free-standing audiophile speakers. Resonances are minimized by heavy, 3?4-inch MDF baffles (X8 and X8S versions) and cast-aluminum baskets (all models), so that bass reproduction remains clear, dynamic, and impactful, without the “boominess” that plagues so many in-wall woofers.

Each woofer model installs easily with the Sonance Architectural Series Gypsum Panel Bracket (available separately).
