Siltech Signature The Abyss subwoofer cable

IF

The Netherlands – May 2004 – Siltech proudly introduces The Abyss a new Signature series dedicated subwoofer interconnect. The Abyss is specifically engineered for use with today’s powered subwoofers systems.

In most home theaters, ordinary interconnects are used to connect the subwoofer. This is less than an optimal solution. Most subwoofers hum and buzz a great deal. They emit noise that is caused by the fast switching of the class-D amplifiers that power them. These noises have a negative effect on the performance of the interconnect that feeds the sub. The longer the interconnect, the greater the performance loss will be. For taut and precise bass, it is necessary to keep this noise away from the LFE signal. The special ultra low noise Micro Technology construction used in The Abyss keeps this noise away from the LFE signal. This construction also makes the cable particularly immune to RFI (Radio Frequency Interference) that can interfere with low frequency signals.

The Abyss contains a passive filter to keep out the broadband noise that is being generated by the digital crossovers used in most surround processors and receivers. It filters out the mid and high frequency noise. Because of this, the subwoofer is much more difficult to localize by ear and thereby easier to position in the room. Because of this LFE optimization, The Abyss is the first truly dedicated subwoofer interconnect.

The Abyss is a precision made cable that uses ultra high-quality materials, such as solid core silver-gold conductors utilizing Siltech’s sixth generation metallurgy and Kapton as the dielectric. The Abyss makes your subwoofer come alive with dynamically detailed deep bass and compellingly authoritative low frequency reproduction.
