San Jose, CA–(January 29, 2008)–Silicon Optix, the leader in advanced video processors, is thrilled to announce two of its HQV customers were recently honored by DEG: The Digital Entertainment Group at the 2008 International CES Show. The Samsung BDP-5000 Blu-ray Disc Player received the DEG Digital Innovation Award for SOURCE and the Denon AVR-5308CI Receiver won the Digital Innovation Award for SOUND.
In memory of DEG’s founding Chairman Emiel N. Petrone, the DEG Digital Innovation Awards acknowledge the year’s most outstanding digital entertainment products released in 2007 in the categories of Sight, Source and Sound. These prestigious awards are selected by a panel of product reviewers from the industry’s home theater enthusiast publications.
“We are thrilled for our customers and are proud to be the processing power behind these innovative products,” said Jim Mannos, President and CEO of Silicon Optix. “We would also like to thank the press for acknowledging the benefits of our HQV advanced video processing technology,” continued Mannos.
Silicon Optix’s Emmy award winning HQV processing delivers the sharpest and most detailed HD images possible by utilizing features such as true 1080i-to-1080p HD deinterlacing, and a sophisticated multidirectional diagonal filter that ensures video free from jagged edges. HQV also does an incredible job of making SD material approach HD quality by employing advanced scaling, per-pixel detail enhancement, and noise reduction technology that removes noise and artifacts caused by compression.
