Savant Appoints Rep for Florida and the Caribbean

Osterville, MA. March, 2008– Savant Systems LLC, with a visionary approach to home automation that emphasizes reliability and a maintenance-friendly open platform, has announced that David Arnold will be covering Florida and the Caribbean as a member of the Savant factory sales team.

Arnold has worked as a business development specialist in the technology marketplace, responsible for Florida and the Caribbean region since the early 1990’s. For the past 4 years, Arnold has worked and consulted with luxury residential builders and developers to deliver complete building CE solutions in the South Florida marketplace and has accepted industry awards at CEDIA Expo for his work in this area. “We are confident that David brings both an essential skill set as well as an intimate understanding of the home control and entertainment marketplace to this position,” stated Savant president Jim Carroll. “Savant is focused on growing our business in Florida and the Caribbean–we think David Arnold is the ideal person to execute our sales and marketing strategy there,” Carroll concluded.

Arnold was previously a co-founder and principal in various technology companies including @tlas Internet Inc. a pioneer broadband ISP providing DSL, IP, VOIP and Video over IP in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Prior to @tlas, Arnold was a principal at DirectNET, one of the nation’s first ISP’s providing broadband wireless Internet services. During this time, Arnold designed and developed wireless broadband networks in St. Croix and Puerto Rico and was instrumental in bringing affordable broadband services to the public school systems in the Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties of Florida.

Arnold also teaches the only accredited Custom Electronics course approved by the ASID (American Society of Interior Design) titled Designing for Digital Lifestyles. A native of Ohio, Arnold moved to the Caribbean to attend University and has lived and worked since that time in South Florida and the Islands. Arnold has a B.A from The University of Akron in Ohio and holds a certificate of studies from Universidad Interamericana de San German Puerto Rico.
